"Please wake up Tony. Baby I need you to wake up."
I look around desperately, still on my knees. "I can hear him," I whisper, standing up.
Lily stares. "What?"
"Please don't leave me beau..."
"STEPHAN!" I scream. "Stephan, I'm right here! Please, where at you?"
"Tony, baby, I need you to wake up now."
"I am awake!" I'm sobbing now. Lily is trying to talk to me but I can't hear her. "Stephan, please!"
"Please..."
"Tony!"
Lily's voice snaps me back.
"There's no one there! Now please, let's go." She touches my forehead. "This place is making you sick."
"Not without Stephan," I plead, tears running down my face.
"Please. Don't leave me baby."
Something sharp stabs me in my neck and I gasp. What the hell?
Another white hot pain erupts from my shoulder, then the other side of my neck. Blood is spilling down the front of me. Lily is screaming something but all I can hear is my mate's gentle voice. "I love you beau."
Suddenly Lily's face morphs into Stephan's and I'm staring into his eyes.
I sit up suddenly, gasping and sputtering on my tears.
"Tony!" He sobs, then pulls me into a tight hug. I'm then pulled back at arms length while his glossy eyes examine me all over. His face twists and he embraces me again. " Oh Tony," he moans like he's in pain. "Oh God beau, ma vie, Mon amour, j'avais si peur!"
His body is trembling lightly. He then whimpers, "I thought I lost you baby," in a broken voice.
I'm shaking now. "W-what happened?" Something's burning on my neck and shoulders and the smell of my own blood hit my nose. My stomach burns like it was ripped open then stitched back together; my movement is greatly limited. My wounds along my face still have a heartbeat which matches the pulse I feel along the bite marks on my shoulders and neck.
Stephan's grip tightens. "You died." I choke on my own spit.
I died? That's what that was? I grit my teeth but I don't say anything.
For many years I had wondered what death would be like. It seemed now just like a twisted nightmare.
"What-what happened?"
"They put you under." Stephan frowns. "You don't remember me telling you that they were going to do... do surgery?"
My eyes widen and I sit up straight; pain forces me to lay back down, but it wasn't my normal pain. My throat was seizing up, my heart pounding. Oh God, oh God...
"Am-am I-"
Stephan's smile is blinding.
"You're cancer free!"
I freeze. No way. There's no way. Instead of the joy I thought I'd feel, all I felt was the pit of my stomach drop. Tears spring in my eyes and my extremities tingly with nervousness. Stephan, mistaking my tears for tears of joy, let's out a happy laugh and hugs me tightly. He's laughing, and I don't want to ruin his happiness so I keep quiet.
It'll come back.
I'm so sorry about the short chapter!!
It's hard to write with school work and my pain..
Please, please be patient.
Thank you guys for your time!
Have a good day,
