Everything happened in sync.

Just as the guards left to switch, the yellow all grabbed onto the building and sent surges of electricity into it, short circuiting everything, alarms started to blare within milliseconds of this.

The guards that were running towards them all stopped, turned around, and charged at each other.

Liam smirked down at me before squeezing and letting go of my hand and shouting into the crowd.

"Let's go blues!" Everyone cheered as he screamed this.

I saw five teenager's eyes start to glow red as they created a ring of Fire around us.

"Woah," I heard Charles Meriwether mumble before he turned and looked at me, "we have roughly 2 minutes and 32 seconds before all of the PSF's come outside." He said and I nodded.

I turned to Liam and nodded, watching as he gave me a wink and smiled before pointing his hands at the fences as his eyes turned bright blue.

He struggled at first and I knew I needed to help.

I faced the fence and my eyes turned blue; I struggled withholding my true eye color back; and I let out a scream in sync with the rest of the blues as we all shoved the gate down.

However, my job wasn't done. While kids started to make a run for it, I slammed my right foot into the ground towards the building which caused an controlled earthquake to start to form underneath the building that I have called my shelter for the last 7 years.

I glanced at the water towers on either side of the crumbling building and waved my hands in motions to shove all 10,000 gallons of water into the building, flooding all of the hallways simultaneously.

Almost instantly, gun shots were heard and kids started to run everywhere.

"Sam!" I heard Liam scream, yet I couldn't find him. I searched for Liam as I saw Dylan and Gisselle race up to me.

"Liam!" I screamed out, but no one called back.

"We have to go, now!" Dylan shouted to me.

"No, I can't find Liam!" I shouted back, weaving in between teens as we made our way to the forest line.

"He'll be fine! We need to go now! He's with Chubs he's okay." Gisselle reassured me, "we have a meeting place picked out, we will meet him there in three days."

It was then that I realized over 20 other kids were running with us.

And little did I know that I wouldn't see Liam for over a year and a half.

~3 days later in the back entrance of a target~

We have been sitting at the target for over 3 hours now and I have been pacing for 2 of those hours.

"What if he got hurt in the escape? I just left him there, I can't live with myself if something did happen to him."  I rambled, my eyes blurred with tears and I just let them all fall.

"Look, i am extremely sorry we didn't wait for Liam. But if we stayed any longer we would've been killed," Dylan sighs and the others nodded in agreement, "we should go soon, it's not safe to be out in the open like this."

~Liam's POV 3 days earlier~

I smirked down at Samantha as my heart urged me to hug her, however I knew we didn't have time for that. Because if I did hug her, I don't think I would've been able to let her go.

I squeezed her hand quickly before letting go of her, all warmth instantly leaving me as I stepped towards the fence and away from her.

"Let's go blues!" I shouted and everyone cheered.

In an instant, five reds unleashed fire around us, as a form of boundary.

I glanced back at Sam and saw her nod with a small smile on her face, I winked back with a grin before facing the fence again.

Pointing my hands at the fences, I let my eyes turned bright blue before I shoved them forward as I pushed myself to knock it over. However it wouldn't budge.

I then thought of Samantha and how she's been here for almost 6 years. 6 years of torture, 6 years of brutal agony. I knew I had to do it. Not for me, and not even for everyone else, but for Sam. Because I cared for her too much to allow her to go through more years of pain and torture.

I let out a scream as I pushed myself past my limits to push it down, listening in on the rest of the blues as they did the same.

I heard a huge crack and flinched as did everyone else, turning to see the building that I've despised for the last few years started to crumble to the ground, before the water towers exploded and the water poured straight into the crumbling building.

In what seems like seconds, gun shots were heads and the only thing on my mind was to make sure Sam was okay.

"Sam!" I shouted, searching through the panicked crowd, yet I couldn't seem to find her anywhere.

"Liam!" I heard her scream back, however before I could run towards the direction her voice came from, i saw a young girl; maybe 9 or 10 years old; being trampled by the crowd of escaping kids.

I immediately lunged forward and pick her up, turning to come face to face with my best friend Charles Meriwether, or what I like to call him, Chubs.

"C'mon Lee! We have to go now!" He shouted.

"Not without Sam!" I shouted back, trying to hear him over the crowd of kids.

"I saw her with Gisselle and Dylan. They'll meet us at the meeting place in 3 days, now let's go!" He said and I sighed but reluctantly follow him.

~ 3 days later in the front entrance of a target~

We have been here for a little over 5 hours.

I was pacing for 4 of those hours, my eyes over flowing with salty tears.

"I should've waited. What if she's hurt? What is she never made it out? I won't be able to live with myself." I signed, sitting on the cracked side walk with my head in my hands.

"Look Lee, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have rushed you. We should've waited, but if we did we could've been killed, or worse." Chubs pauses, glancing at a sleeping Suzume, " and plus, I know that you didn't want anything to happen to Zu. And I promise I'll do everything in my power to try to find her for you."

I glanced up and wiped the stray tears from my face, "you're right Chubs, I can feel it. She's close, we'll find her." I knew I was going to find my way back to her.

Little did I know that it would be more complicated than that.
