I threw down the walkie and ran. Although I didn't hear any foosteps or voices I knew they would be coming down on me soon. I looked around as my palms got sweatier and sweatier. My eyes catch a vent that is large enough for me to fit into. I pull off my black duffel bag and throw it onto the ground. I zip it open and search for a screw driver. I sigh with relief when I find one and I start to get to work. I place the screw driver into my good hand and start to unscrew the vent from the wall. Echoes of voices a couple of halls away causes me to drop my scew driver. I swiftly pick it up and work faster. I pulled the first two screws out and throw them into my duffel bag. Beads of sweat start to accumilate on my forehead as I can now hear the echoes of footsteps running in my direction. My fingers start to twitch and I groan in frustration.
Come on Niall you can do this.
I smile a little as I pull out the last screw. The footsteps are only feet away as I crawl into the vent and bring my duffel bag with me. I pull the vent shut just as the footsteps come around the corner. I let out a small chuckle as I watch the multiple guards pass me by.
I had escaped, I had made it out alive
