Riverbank Bridge, Shadow Knight's Satellite base #6: July 29th 2020: 3:03 AM

Shadow Knight was a master of hiding things, as was SLEET.

So it was no surprise that he had several hidden bases around the city that he used when he figured he didn't have time to go to his main clock tower lair for whatever reason.

This bridge was one of those satellite lairs.

Hidden underneath the bridge that linked the financial district to the central lunar district, which was commonly called the Riverbank Bridge because of this fact, was a secret panel that would open up to allow The Mirage in boat form to enter inside when it received a proximity signal from the super vehicle upon approach.

The door closed quickly behind them once they had entered safely.

The Mirage had cloaked itself before heading inside, just to further through of suspicions if anyone in the adjacent buildings happened to be looking down at the central canal river.

Inside was a secret docking area, and beyond that was another Night watch computer and crime lab.

After she had stepped out of The Mirage onto the docking plank leading to the main hideout area, Detective Rene Alverez looked around in disbelief at Shadow Knight's satellite lair.

"The clock tower, the light house, the subway tunnel, now under the Riverbank Bridge?" she examined, "How did you ever get these things made? Surely someone would have noticed these places being built."

"SLEET is very good at building secret bases, plus you remember a while back this bridge was closed due to construction repair?"

"Oh..." Detective Rene Alverez said in understanding, "Right. There was nothing wrong with the bridge, it was a ruse to install this under the road on the financial district side of the bridge."

"Correct..." Shadow Knight confirmed, as he sat down in front of Nightwatch-006 and placed the strip that contained the fingerprints he had collected from the apartment window onto a scanner device.

The supercomputer immediately went to work scanning the criminal and civilian databases of the city to identify whose prints these were.

They might revel who The Mastermind was, or at least give them a clue as to how to find him.

If they capture him, the game was over...but there was still the mater of the remaining hostages.

They had saved two, three remained.

As he waited for the computer to finish scanning the prints, he walked down to the crime lab in the east corner of the room.

He beckoned for Detective Rene Alverez to come over.

Shadow Knight sat down at his chair in the crime lab and placed the scarf he had taken with him from The Mastermind's previous round of his game under an examination light.

Detective Rene Alverez stood beside him, examining it herself.

"What do you see?" she asked.

"On the offhand, not much..." Shadow Knight said, "Only that this blindfold isn't a blindfold. It's a scarf, a neck scarf. And from the smell of it when I had it over my mask's eyeholes a moment ago...it's been perfumed with 'Desire', a cheap perfume used in seedy areas of ill repute. There is also a small trace of nicotine...and the scarf is at least three years old it seems based on the amount of wear and tear. What does this convey?"

"That this was a female's neck scarf, a lady of the night...and she smoked." Detective Rene Alverez deduced.

"Well done..." Shadow Knight congratulated, "unfortunately this doesn't tell us who this belongs to."
