Professor Emsworth crept down the wall and sat with her head between her knees and started sobbing, as I entered her house with Inspector Jacob. We were pointing out guns toward Julia. 'Drop your weapon at once Julia!' I screamed at her. The knife fell from her hand and she tumbled backwards and sat on the stairs. It seemed as if realisation had struck her, that it was the end.

I looked at Professor Emsworth, 'Mam, you said Julia was at college. It's Sunday, the college is not functioning today. Moreover, you said there is no picture of Davie Ruth on the internet or anywhere. Well, if he has been sighted recently just outside Vineswill and several other times throughout London and still there is no photograph of him then it only means that he is a made up, fictional character.'

'As far as the licence is concerned, we had found it on the night of the murder itself. It was sir who asked me to play this whole thing out and call him while he was at your office. And he was right, it gave us an opportunity to catch you red-handed.' said inspector Jacob.

I looked at Professor Emsworth. 'I was just trying to protect my sister. I have failed in guiding her through life, I have failed in being the right guardian and see where it has brought us.' she said as she sobbed.
'Mam, I don't know what are the reasons behind these murders, what was the purpose of this insanity but now I know who the murderer is. Both of you will have to be arrested.' I turned to Inspector Jacob, 'Arrest them.'

As we walked out of the door and I called the department to inform them about the case I could see Professor Emsworth's face covered in tears. Julia's face still had the very same expression of indifferency even now though, with a disturbed, evil smile on her face as she was being walked to the car.

The case had been finally solved.

I woke up to the ringing alarm in the morning. I came downstairs and walked into my kitchen to prepare my coffee as I read the local newspaper.
