It was Everest's first birthday held at the Lookout and in Adventure Bay, so everyone wanted it to be absolutely perfect; and it was. All the festivities were ready, except for one. She had asked for a large pupperoni pizza for just her as a present; homemade was what they were doing, until they hit trouble.

"Pups, we're out of pupperoni." Ryder informed them, and they all looked at Rubble.

"What? I know that besides Everest I eat the most, but seriously, it wasn't me!" He replied.

"It doesn't matter who did what; the problem is that we don't have the main ingredient for Everest's birthday surprise. And with that knowledge, I need two volunteers to go down to Mr. Porter's to get more." Ryder stated.

Five pups took a step backwards, leaving the two "volunteered" pups: Marshall and Zuma.

"Soooo, I guess we're the ones who are going?" Marshall asked, already knowing the answer.

"Yep. Make sure you come straight back, O.K.?" The boy said.

"We totally got it, dude. See you all soon."

And they left.

SBN: LATER...
Marshall and Zuma had picked up the pupperoni along with a birthday wish from Mr. Porter. Now they were heading home, but their trip had caused them to miss breakfast entirely and they were extra hungry by this time. As they walked down the sidewalk, a scrumptious scent landed in their noses.

"(Sniff) Dude! What is that awsome smell!?" Zuma asked while sticking his nose up in the air.

"Not sure." Marshall replied. "But I have a good guess that it may be the (slurp!) pupperoni."

By this time, both pups were drooling, so they ripped open the container and began to eat. They were in ecstasy and lost all track of time. Soon, they realised that they had created a new problem: the container was empty; the exact opposite of their now bulging bellies.

"Mawrshall, what awre we (Burp!) gonna do now?" Zuma asked as he rubbed his tummy.

"Hm... maybe we could ask Mr. Porter for some more? (Burp!)" Marshall said, smileing.

"I sewriouly don't see that happening, dude."

"Even if we asked really, really nicely?"

"Pwrobably not, how would we pay for it?"

Marshall scratched his head, then Zuma tapped him on the side.

"Wait! I got it! There's this old westuwraunt a little ways down the coast that I used to go to, we could get it thewre."

"That's great, but how will we pay them?" Marshall asked.

"We don't have to. I used to do so much for them that they told me I could have anything at anytime, all I had to do was ask. (Hic!)" Zuma said and wagged his tail.

"Zuma, I'm glad I know you. We're saved!"

After some time, they returned to Adventure Bay with plenty of pupperoni for Everest's pizza.

"Dude, we totally did it!"

"Yeah, now we just go to Everest's party." Marshall said.

At the party, everyone had a fantastic time. Once everything was finished, Marshall and Zuma were going to tell Everest what happened. But before they could, she asked them a surprising yet sickening question.

"Oh, hey guys! Would you two like the leftover pupperoni? I don't want to be a hog."

Marshall and Zuma just looked at each other as their bellies gave uncomfortable growls.
