I wake up on the best day of the year,
Knowing everybody is so full of cheer.
I pity the Scrooge's and Grinches of this world,
Those who definitely wake up to coal.
It's the twenty fifth day of the twelfth month,
Christmas Day only falls, just once.

It's the best day of the year,
When the world smiled with cheer,
Grinning delightfully from ear to ear,
It's the best day of the year!
Sleigh bells ring, children sing, the old folks go caroling,
Santa's coming, everyone's loving the best day of the year!

In the morning, I visit my family,
Hand out presents, get a little tipsy.
I come on home, my heart in a glow,
And I devour a delicious soup bowl.
In the evening, an extension of perfection,
My family and I stuff our faces with turkey, potatoes and cranberries,
Crack some Christmas crackers,
Laughing and loving merrily.

It's the best day of the year,
When the world smiled with cheer,
Grinning delightfully from ear to ear,
It's the best day of the year!
Sleigh bells ring, children sing, the old folks go caroling,
Santa's coming, everyone's loving, the best day of the year!

Sittin' by the fire, the tree's lights glistening in the corner,
Silver dangles from the evergreen,
I am at peace,
This is what Christmas means to me.

It's the best day of the year,
When the world smiled with cheer,
Grinning delightfully from ear to ear,
It's the best day of the year!
Sleigh bells ring, children sing, the old folks go caroling,
Santa's coming, everyone's loving the best day of the year!
