Tahlia's POV:

The way home is very tiring. Me and Athena walk up the hill like two merchants crossing the Saara. We're both still in shock, so we don't say a word almost all the way up.

The moonlight illuminates Athena's brown curls, making her look like a figure that escaped from an oil painting. The moon serves her so well that it almost looks like she's a shade Elemental and is using her power to control the light, making herself look better.

I look down at my own hands, smiling in delight when I notice that my skin also looks flawless, the silver rays creating waves and making my chocolate skin shine like the stars themselves . That's why I love the nighttime so much- everything looks more beautiful under the moonlight.

I look up, moaning at the sight of the long path we still have ahead. The narrow dirt road climbs up and down hills, writhing and bending like a huge serpent sleeping on the grass. I would use my power of controlling the air to boost me and Tee uphill, but I'm too exhausted. According to my calculations, it's past midnight. There's still a lot of movement on the villages, though.

The one Athena and I live in is one of the furthest from the river, therefore being close to the border. That geographic factor makes our village a great spot for keeping an eye on Youngblood's surroundings, even though there's not much to be seen- just an infinite ocean of hills and some ocasional woods.

I wake up from my trance when I feel Tee's finger softly poking my arm.

"Are you okay Tahls?"

"Yeah. Yeah." I shake my head, surprised by my own confusion. "Just a little bit distracted."

"Ah, got it. A lot of information to process, huh?"

"Yeah" I mutter, not knowing how to respond. She looks the more determined about a mission I've ever seen her.

"Tahls, aren't you excited?" she inquired suddenly, catching me by surprise. There's a fire in her eyes, a reminder of the flames she keeps inside. "It's a complete different world. And complete different opportunities."

"Um, yeah, kinda. Sister, to be honest what I care the most about right now is the chicken seasoning." I joke, partly trying to hide the mess inside my brain. She laughs, slapping my arm.

"Ew!!!" she yells. She is vegetarian.

This breaks the ice and we are able to forget about the Royal Games for some time. We continue our way chatting and laughing at trivial things, like nothing's happening at all. Our words float in the air around us, and keep buzzing in our ears like bees even a while after being pronounced.

Then, we shut up again. Not that we don't want to talk, but we both also adore the simplicity of silence. I like watching the world around me, and I think Athena does too. I let the environment by which I'm surrounded take over my senses- the smell of fresh pastries and coal invade my nostrils and the low late night fuzz coming from the villages sounds like music to me, bringing me peace.

However, just as we're about to go up the hill where our village's at, a subtle bump with two hard figures disturbes my calm. Then, the sound of books hitting the grass mixes with the villagers' voices. I look up at the ones whom me and Athena bumped into.

The breathtaking blue of the eyes of the person in front of me brings me to all the beautiful things in the world. Feeling ashamed of myself for being lead out of reality so fast, I just dive into that two little pieces of the sky. Or of the sea, who knows?

The man's eyes are all I can see, because the rest of his face is covered by a dark piece of cloth. However, some strands of his light brown hair are visible, rebelling against the cloth and falling upon his forehead like tiny rivers of chocolate.

No, what the fuck-

I shake my head aggressively, not caring about how the man might interpret this action. Since when am I this cheesy? Jesus...

My heart returns to its regular pace, and I turn my head aside only to face Athena going through the same problems with the stranger in front of her. She stares dumbly at the man's deep green eyes, and I have to resist the urge of laughing at this ridiculous situation; she rarely feels impressed by men. However, now she can't even move, and I can't wait to make fun of her once she's not so numb.

Like his friend, the green-eyed boy's face is covered by a piece of cloth, but even so his beauty is undeniable. Wait a second, is that...

"Sorry, girls" says the one with the blue eyes, calmly. That brings Athena back to Earth. I notice that the boy has a strong accent, and wonder where he is from.

"No, no, we're the ones who need to apologize." I reply with a grin.

"Yeah, we were, um... distracted" completes Athena, more centered now but not letting go of the green-eyed boy's gaze. Then, we all lean down to pick up the books that the friction caused to be dropped.

"Um, sorry again" says the green-eyed one again. I nod at Blue and Athena does the same at Green, and the four of us continue our way, us up and them down. Once I'm sure the men are far enough, I start laughing out loud.

"HA" I yell "You looked so stupid looking at that boy! What do you have to say about it, Miss 'I-have-no-heart'?"

The air temperature rises and her blushing is visible even amongst the dark of the night.

"Shut up, asshole. Don't you think I didn't notice the way you were staring at the other man's eyes as well?" that shuts me up. "Plus, he looked familiar. He looked a lot like..." she shakes her head, inciting my curiosity, since I find him familiar. "Never mind."

Weird, I think. Suddenly the stars started to shine brighter.
