I get up and get ready for my date with Grayson. I put my hair in a braid and put on some natural-looking makeup. I change into distressed black jeans, a white peplum tank top and sandals. I tell Levi that I'm going out with some friends, and I walk outside, where Grayson is waiting. We drive to a cute little coffee shop and order. We get our drinks and sit down. We talk for a while about our families, hobbies, and other random things about ourselves. It's really nice talking to Grayson, he seems a lot more genuine than I thought he would be. We finish our coffee and get into his car.
"Would you want to come over for a bit? Ethan's out right now," he suggests.
I say yes, and we drive to his house. We go inside and decide to go up to his room and watch a movie. We end up messing around and talking the whole movie, not paying attention to any of it. In the middle of our conversation about our childhoods, there's a silence. I notice Grayson staring at me, and I look at him. He slowly leans in, and our lips meet. I know it's cheesy, but it felt like we were the only people in the world. Just then, his door opens.
"What the hell?" Ethan says and Grayson and I jump away from each other.
"Dude, you can't tell Levi. Please, he'll kill both of us," Grayson says.
"Yeah, you're right, he will kill both of you. Now if you don't mind, I'm going to go to my room and pretend like I didn't;t just see that," Ethan says and closes the door while he walks out.
"I should probably go," I say, grabbing my stuff and walking out the door before he can say anything.
I call my best friend, Lily, to come pick me up. She lives down the street so she's there within 5 minutes. We go back to her house and I explain what happened.
"What?! You guys kissed?!" She squeals.
"Yes, and i honestly don't know what it means. Do you think he likes me?" I ask.
"I mean, he did ask you on a date and he kissed you," she says.
"I don't know what to do," I sigh.
"Well you obviously like him, so why not go for it?" She says.
"Because, he's my brother's best friend. You know that dating your brother's best friend is unacceptable," I say.
"I think a forbidden relationship sounds kinda hot," she says and I roll my eyes at her.
"I'm serious, Lily. I really like Grayson but my brother would never in a million years allow it," I say.
"Why does he have to know? You've hidden things from him before," she says.
"I know, but those things didn't involve him or his best friend," I say.
"I say go for it. And if he finds out and is mad, that's his fault for not realizing that Grayson makes you happy," Lily says.
"You're right. I'll talk to Grayson tomorrow," I say and she gets excited.
We end up watching random movies until we fall asleep. I wake up the next morning with a bunch of missed calls and a text from Grayson.
Grayson: We need to talk...
