Chapter 4 - home sweet home

As the darkness subsided I felt the suns warmth shine down on me. Lazily stretching, I opened my eyes only to find myself sunbathing in one of the many good basking spots that the mansion provided.

Snapping out of the sleepy state I bolted upright. Where was he? No, it wasn't a dream. It couldn't have been. I have had thousands of dreams where I met him again but none where ever that real. Breathing in deeply I could still smell his addictive scent mixing in with the other students, and that gave me a glimmer of hope. My ears twitched as I tried to block out all the sounds of the pupils and hear any trace of the man I had been waiting for for centuries. When I came across none I got up and quickly walked to the door. Noting that my clothes were different but not having it in me to care, I slipped on a pair of shorts under the black silk dress shirt that came down to about mid-thigh. Half for decency and half so the professor wouldn't try and stop me to tell me off. Okay, I didn't actually care about decency but I really couldn't be stopped right now. There were more important things at stake.

Running out of the room, I immediately headed for professor X's office as I had decided if anyone would know where my mate was, it would be him.

Rushing down the seemingly never ending hallways, my hope started to die out as my senses became overwhelmed with the number of scents surrounding me. I usually stayed away from the majority of the students as they were in classes for a high percentage of the time, so being around lots at once was foreign to me, and although i was normally the best at sorting through scents, the mix of panic and the sheer amount in a close vicinity was too much to handle. The world started to spin and darkness played at the edges of my vision. I could hear a few screams as the distinctive smell of my mate surrounded me and i felt strong arms wrap around my petite waist, bringing me into a warm embrace.

A moment later I found myself back in my room, swinging lightly on my bed. I looked up but quickly closed my eyes as my vision looked almost static (if anyone knows what I mean then I'm pretty sure we're soulmates because that was the worst description ever). I slowly re-opened my eyes and they were immediately drawn to my mates figure leaning against the wall. His arms were crossed and I could see anger burning in his ice-like eyes.

"May I ask," he practically growled, electric eyes solely focused on me "why you found it necessary to put yourself in danger like that?"

I wasn't really sure on how to answer so i kept my mouth shut, which was seemingly the right thing to do as he let a frustrated growl pass his lips, dark lids sliding down to conceal the electricity that seemed to ripple underneath.

Soundlessly I moved forward, wrapping my arms around his torso and tail snaking round his leg, and looking up at him with the innocent eyes I had so perfectly crafted, seeing them begin to work their magic as his eyes softened ever so slightly. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to act so recklessly, I was just worried when I woke alone." my lips fell into an effortless pout, and the anxiety I had previously felt decreased as his resolve softened.

Thick arms wrapped around my waist and my hands moved up to rest against his chest. "I missed you, kiska." Although his anger was still present, I felt him calm some more and his words only solidified my assumption. I nestled myself further into his chest, the cat in me bathing in the warmth and comfort that I found in it. I felt my eyes grow heavy and the next thing I know I had been gently placed on a lap, warmth surrounding me, and I finally surrendered to the darkness
