Knights of Snowballia

Chapter 6

At long last, we finally see Princess Sarah in her full glory, a tall blonde women sporting a greyish white dress with green accent colors. She gets out of her bed and is shocked over the fact 6 people managed to find her. "She's taller than I expected.", Dairrion whispered to Kylei. "How did you manage to find me here?", Sarah asked. DJ replied back, "Well, we were sent to this place by King Kernius VIII, and according to the map our leader had, you were supposedly held captive in this very tower." Princess Sarah looks around and notices the other 5 knights behind him, "You didn't seem to come all this way alone haven't you?", she asked curiously. "Well, yes. My brother and cousin were sent out here to rescue you from a demonic overlord, but we took a detour to the villages of Yulee and took 3 more people along with us. I'm not gonna really take full credit for coming out here, that goes to our leader Andrew.", he replied calmly and continued, "He managed to point out where you may have been held and he took us all here, where we finally meet you." Sarah then asked where Andrew was, and as soon as she pointed him out she greeted him and thanked everyone for managing to rescue her. "I am eternally grateful for what your group of knights has done in order to save me from imprisonment. The last thing I could remember was Xenovus and his army locking me up in this tower and putting me under an enchantment of slumber." "Well, Xenovus has tried to invade villages all around Snowballia, and he won't stop until he gets whatever he wants from the kingdom. He set fire to the Yulee Marshes 2 days back, and now he's possibly heading for the province of Elkhart, a city not too far away from our current location.", Andrew said and continued, "If we leave now we might be able to stop him from attacking and recruit more and more people for our cause. Besides, half of the quest is set and done anyway and all I really have to do is return you back to King Kernius VIII."

The other 6 agree with Andrew's comment and prepare to gather their belongings to head west towards Elkhart, a city considered to be third-world, but happens to be a beautiful area with glacial-like features, and a waterfall that protects the city from invaders. They arrive at the Batavia-Elkhart province line and request that they speak with the chieftain of the city, Sir Christian. "Who goes pass the county line?", a person asks. "Well, who the heck are you?", Andrew replied. "I am the border guard for Elkhart, state your business otherwise I suggest that you and your group of friends leave the place at once.", the guard responds. "Well, I have word that the ruler of the Netherrealm is coming here to destroy this very city. We are the Knights of Snowballia and it is our job to keep your city from crumbling apart, so unless you want Elkhart to be torn to shreds I kindly ask that you let us talk to Sir Christian as soon as possible.", Princess Sarah said sincerely. "Well I'm afraid to inform you that our great chief is out on an expedition and won't be back until Monday, so I have no choice but to direct you all away from the premises.", the security guard stated. "Oh that's total bullcrap. It's obvious you wanna go all Wizard of Oz on us and expect us to cry like heck in order for us to get in.", Dairrion said rudely. After minutes or so of convincing the guard to let the group in, they manage to reach the Elkhart Tower, where the chief of the city resides. There, they finally arrange a meeting with Sir Christian himself to tell him about the impending danger and how they can stop it. 

"Well well well, if it isn't the fairest of all maidens in the land, Princess Sarah. And would you look at this, her band of noble knights have arrived as well. What do you guys want?", Christian said as the 7 protagonists are being escorted into his room. "We were sent here by King Kernius after rescuing the princess in Batavia due to a possibility of the demonic overlord himself invading your city, which is a deep concern for myself and the knights. We want to help you fight off his army in any way we can, but we need you to approve of it first.", DJ stated. Christian walked over to DJ and replied, "Well, look here son. It's obvious that my city is in grave danger if this demon wants to invade. And I greatly appreciate the service you provide, but my answer is no. I should be able to have Elkhart's citizens ready to defend their homes and leave it as that, thus your service won't really be needed." "Well I don't know if you realize it, but this 'demon' you speak of is the ruler of the Netherrealm. Xenovus is a deadly force to be reckoned with, and even if you could defend your village with just the residents who live here, he'd mow your armies down like a wildfire in L.A. I don't think you want to reject our services now don't you think?", Andrew responded. "Not to mention, he killed our parents in a fire.", Max stated. "Oh really, is that so? Well tell this Xenovus dude he ain't gettin nowhere near my village, especially because I have over 6 million wins on FortNitus.", Christian boasted with a sarcastic tone. "Well it is a huge shame that your cocky and selfish attitude is what got you to become chief of Elkhart. You'll feel sorry if Xenovus claims your life and everyone else's lives too.", Camryn said. 

As the 7 of them walked out, the ground suddenly started shaking above them. Xenovus' right hand man Gabriel had managed to breach security within Elkhart and begins a citywide massacre, starting by breaking into the Elkhart Tower. He crashes down through the roof and finds himself in Christian's office. "Greetings fellow chieftain, I've been looking for you ever since you abandoned me several years ago. Now you are left defenseless with no army to back you up.", he stated as he drew out his weapon. The two of them prepare to duel while the knights hear the commotion in the background. After several minutes of fighting, Christian is struck down by Gabriel and just as he accepts his fate, DJ shoots a flaming arrow to Gabriel's face, distracting him in the process while Camryn and Kylei heal him. As Gabriel breaks the arrow from his armor, the other 5 knights decide to stand up for Christian and agree to stop him at all costs. They rush toward Gabriel and overpower him quite quickly as he is unable to strike back against the knights. Christian heals up and notices Gabriel beaten and lying on the ground, as he walks up to his former friend, he draws out his blade and begins to ponder about whether or not he should spare him for his actions.

"Please Christian, I know what I did to you years back at Anatole Palace was a terrible mistake, deserting you in the room of adolescence in an obstacle-filled room like that, but I want you to know I'm sorry for my actions and I want you to forgive me.", Gabriel stated weakly as he was coughing up blood from his wounds. "No Gabriel, what you have done to me has put a disgrace on my name to the people of Elkhart, and I can't afford to keep you captive if Xenovus is still out there destroying cities for the lives of parents. I'm sorry, but you must leave this area at once and never come back to Snowballia ever again.", he replied. Gabriel surrenders after having his life spared, and he was escorted to a boat near the coast of Elkhart, never to be seen again.  As the other 7 heroes walk up to Christian, he thanks them for saving his life. The celebration is cut short however, as soldiers from Xenovus' army crash in through the glass windows and capture everyone. "Seems like you all are out of luck, and most definitely out of time, for you all will have no choice but to submit to my army or die at the hands of hellfire.", Xenovus stated. "We will never give up to a demon like you!", Sarah stated aggressively. The soldiers take them by force and are escorted out of Elkhart and taken to Xenovus' island which is the northern most place in Snowballia itself.
