Chapter 1

*3 months ago* 

Ellie Jane was doing her homework in her dorm at UNC when her fiancee Lucas knocked on her door. "Hey Ellie Jane um can we talk?' 

"Yeah sure" she said 

He came in and said "Look um I want to break up with you." 

"what why?' she said 

"Ellie Jane I just don't think this is going to work out for us." Lucas said

She wiped tears and said "Ok well than here here's my ring back." 

"Ellie Jane baby don't be mad or hurt I just I'm not happy." he said 

"Just get out!" she yelled 

"Ellie.." he said

"Get out!!!" she yelled 

She slammed the door and cried they had been together almost 3 years. She found her phone on her coffee table and she called her mom first "Hey Mama" she said

"Hey baby girl I wanted to tell you that your invitations came in today." Susan said

"Well send them back cause I won't need them." she said as she sat on her couch.

"What happened baby?' Susan said

"I don't know he just showed up here and said he wasn't happy with me anymore and he ended it." she said 

"Baby I'm sorry." Susan said

"Yeah.. I gotta call dad and let him know that he can try and get his money back for the stuff he did I love you mom" she said

"I love you too baby" Susan said

She hung up the phone and then found her dad's number and he said "Hey pumpkin what are you doing?'

"Hey daddy.. um Lucas ended our engagement so um you need to try and see if you can get your money back and um I'll sell my dress." she said

"Ellie Jane baby did he say why?' Bill said

"Other than he's no longer happy with me no" she said 

"Baby I am sorry." he said 

"Daddy I gotta make more phone calls so I'll just talk to you later." she said

She hung up and sighed as she called Nat and she said "Hey you! What are you up to?'

She could hear everyone in the background and she said "Nat put me on speaker phone.." 

"Ellie what's wrong?' Nat put her on speakerphone

When Nat said her name everyone perked up including Bucky and she said "Um I wanted to let you all know that you um oh god don't have to come to my wedding anymore." 

"Ellie Jane darlin what's wrong?' Bucky said 

"The wedding is no longer happening cause Lucas just broke up with me not but 20 minutes ago." Ellie said through tears. 

"Darlin breathe did he say why he changed his mind 6 months before your wedding?' Bucky said

"He's not happy with me anymore..." she said 

Bucky took Nat's phone and switched it to a video and he said "Baby look up tell me that you give that bastard he's fucking ring back." 

"I did and yelled at him to get out when he tried to tell me to not be mad or hurt" she said 

Wanda said "Not to hurt you even more but that sounds like a bull shit excuse Ellie Jane." 

"I agree" Sam said 

"Sounds to me someone got cold feet" Clint said 

"Well baby doll you are still coming in this weekend for your birthday right?'Bucky said

"Yeah I am" she said as she wiped tears.

"Good you need this weekend. Norah isn't going to be able to make it she's got an away game to cheer at but she said to tell you Happy Birthday." he said 

She smiled and said "Tell Norah thank you when you talk to her. I'm so happy for you Buck." 

"Ellie Jane.." Bucky said 

"Listen guys I really need to finish my home work so I'll see you all this weekend." she said 

"Ellie Jane baby doll look at me don't go back down that road understand me I almost lost my best friend I'll drive my ass to North Carolina to make sure you don't do anything stupid." Bucky said

"I know you will" she said with a smile 

She hung up and got in her fridge and opened a beer she had bought with her fake ID and said "After Saturday I will no longer need this bad boy." as she threw it on the counter and started to finished her homework.
