I wasn’t sure if this was actually happening. If I was really about to meet that kid I had been talking to for a month. It seemed so unreal and like any moment now I’d wake up and realise it was all just a dream. I stood there frozen as Jason walked towards me.
The first thing I noticed was Jason’s bruised eye. That didn’t take away any of his beauty. When he reached me, I looked up and couldn’t help but ask, “Is this a dream?”
Jason chuckled. “I sure as hell hope not.” He leaned down and kissed my cheek, gently. He brushed a hand through his hair. “I look good, right?”
“Eh, you look alright,” I joked.
“I’m Jason… and you are?”
I smiled, as I understood what he was doing. “Linnea. Linnea Gregg. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
“The pleasures all mine,” Jason replied, swiftly. “Now come on, Linnea Gregg lets go sit down.” Jason grabbed my hand. A motion that he probably didn’t even think about but as soon as his hand intertwined with mine, my heart start beating fast and I feared that my he’d feel my sweaty palms. I couldn’t concentrate on anything but how hand felt in mine.
When we reached the table, Jason puled the chair out for me and I couldn’t help but say, “Well aren’t you a gentleman.”
“Only for you, Nea.” Jason took a seat opposite to me and gave me a heartbreaking smile. “You know, I thought we’d never meet. I thought maybe you weren’t real. You seem to be too good to be true.” I wasn’t sure how to respond to that so I just looked down at my lap, blushing and Jason laughed.
“How’d you get that bruise?” I asked, curiously.
“Doesn’t matter.”
I frowned. “Come on.”
“I had to teach some fuckwit a lesson. He won’t touch you again, Linnea or God help him. I’ll fucking kill him.”
I gulped. “How’d you find him?”
“I know a guy.”
“You could’ve gotten seriously hurt!”
