Jason's betrayal against Tommy

Chapter nine Tommy's secret

Tommy is sitting on his bed at his house when all of a sudden be gets a flashback of his father coming into the room and beating him. He knew that he had to tell someone but the only person he knew that can keep a secret is Kimberly so he calls her. "Hello" Kim said when she picked up the phone. "Hi Kim it's me, Tommy." Tommy said. "What's up?" Kim asked. "I have to tell you something." Tommy said. "Okay, what do you want to tell me?" Kim asked. "Promise me that you won't tell anyone else this. " Tommy said. " I promise." Kim said. "Okay, Kim my father was an alcoholic. He would come into my room and beat me almost every single day for no apparent reason. So that's why I was drinking. I was just trying to forget the pain." Tommy said. "Well does Jason know that?" Kim asked. "No he doesn't and I don't want him to know that yet." Tommy said. Then he said "My mom is kinda happy that my father is dead because he would also beat her. She is the only family I have left and I don't want to lose her." " I know how you feel. My dad is the only family I have left and I don't want to lose him." Kim said. "What about your mom?" Tommy asked. "My mom and dad got divorced so that's why I am staying with my dad." Then she said" they got divorced when I was five or six years old. I thought that it was my fault that my mom and dad got divorced but looking back at it I relize that it wasn't my fault. I never had a good relationship with my mom." Then Tommy started to tell Kim what happened after a few days have gone by with his mom and dad. "I used to live with my mom and dad but as soon as my dad started to drink alcohol he would drink so much that he got violent with me and my mom. A few days after that my mom and dad decided to get a divorce. My dad still came back afterwards." Tommy said. "How old were you when your mom and dad got divorced?" Kimberly asked. "I was probably like fourteen or fifteen years old when they got divorced and I knew it was because of my dad." Tommy said. Then he said "I am eighteen years old now and you are the same age of me." Then Kim said " Jason is the same age as us."  Then Tommy said "I will talk to you later, I have to do something." "Okay" Kim said. "Bye" Tommy said and he hung up. When Tommy was doing his homework he heard a song that his dad used to sing all the time before he started to drink alcohol. The song was I can only imagine. The next day Tommy was walking around town listening and singing to I can only imagine. Jason was listening to Tommy singing it and when Tommy was done singing the song Jason came up behind him and said "Dreaming of becoming a singer I guess." Tommy turned around and saw Jason. "Hey, what's up dude?" Tommy asked. "I just heard you singing so I guess that means that you want to be a singer." Jason said. Then Tommy said "Yeah, I used to listen to my dad when he sang this all the time when I was little." Then Jason asked Tommy if there was another secret that he wanted to tell him. Then Tommy told him what he told Kimberly. Jason then said"I heard what happened to your dad from Kimberly." Then Tommy asked him if he has ever heard of the song I can only imagine. " It's the first time I heard that song." Jason said. Then Tommy sang the whole song in front of Jason. " What do you think of the song?" Tommy asked when he was done singing the song. "It's a good song." Then Jason said "I am going to go home." "Okay bye" Tommy said. "Bye" Jason said. Then Tommy went home.
