The next day I woke up to the sound of ambulance sirens wailing very close to my room. I quickly put my hair up in a messy ponytail, and run out the front door to see whats going on. when my eyes finally land on the scene being carried out in front of me, I almost wish I never heard anything. Gram was being wheeled inside the ambulance, while wearing a oxygen mask. I knew shes always had respiratory issues, and recently it has gotten worse to to her aging, but i never imagined that something like this could happen.

Soon, the ambulance drives off into the distance leaving me behind. I can only hope for the best now. As long as the shadows don't interfere, it should be fine.

~TIME SKIP~

I look around the cafeteria for Melody and Storm, and of course they are no where to be found. Almost as if he predicted it, Barron grabbed my hand the second I went to sit down, and dragged me away. "Um, where are you taking me?" I asked, slightly amused.

"Well you are certainly not sitting alone again." He looked back at me and said with a smile.

I roll my eyes, and eventually we stop walking. where almost halfway into the cafeteria by now. I'm greeted by some familiar faces I've seen at the club before, and even a few new ones. Storm jumps out of his seat and hugs me tightly. "I'm sorry I didn't come to find you, but that evil lady made me sit here." He said while pointing at Melody. She rolled her eyes as a smile slowly began to form on her pale face, and gestured for me to sit in the chair across from hers.

"So, has this school suit you nicely so far?" She asks.

"I guess." I respond.

Although I still had to come here today even though my grandmother aka my guardian is in the freaking hospital right now.

"Is something wrong love?" Cyrus asks me, not sitting too far away from Melody.

Barron looks a little unsettled when he calls me "love", but his gaze soon softens as Cyrus snuggles closer to Andrew.

"Anyways, now you have a table to sit at!" Barron exclaims, almost as if he forgot about what had happened only seconds ago.

I sigh and answer Cyrus. "No everything is fine, just a rough morning that's all."

Cyrus nods in contempt, then Andrew starts to hold Cyrus's hand.

"Can you two stop being cute! It's making me sad!" Storm wails dramatically.

"It's just Cyrus that's cute." Andrew responds with a smirk.

Cyrus's face turns red from embarrassment and he buried himself into Andrews chest.

"Don't say things like that in public." Cyrus muffled through Andrews chest.

We all laugh and after another thirty minutes, lunch soon ends.

~Time Skip~

Barron and me begin to walk to our seventh periods together, when we suddenly spot a strange man waiting outside my classroom door. He was tall and lanky, wore a stained suit, and had messy Dirty Blonde hair. I'm assuming its a sub, but I think a substitute teacher would dress more properly.

Barron and me start to approach him, when suddenly he turns towards us. We stop dead in our tracks, and when he sees me his eyes widen.

"Y-You look just like her..." He whispers.

"Um, like who?" I ask the stranger.

"Sorry for the sudden appearance, but allow me to introduce myself. My name is Jackson, and I wanted to see you." He responded in a deep voice.

"Why?"

"Because I'm your dad, Ashlyn."
