Chapter IV

Anger... anger and sadness. It's all I can register in my emotions. Something has snapped inside of me, and I find myself breathing in Solomon's face.

"I'm gonna kill you." I growl. "I will destroy you. I'M GONNA RIP YOU INTO A MILLION PIECES!" I screamed. My fists are clenched so hard that my knuckles pop in unison.

"Kid... stop it. I'm sorry. I understand what you're going through.. this happened to me at the beginning of my new life, too." He says softly. "There's nothing left for you now. There's no reason for you to stay here. Be my brother." He insists.

Call me pathetic, but all I want right now is someone to hug. I fall into his arms and burst into tears. His arms go up for awkward patting and I let him do so. I finally decided not to care anymore. No more emotions.

I completely let my mind loose. And that's when the voices fill my mind. Of everyone within an 150 mile radius. Everyone of those thoughts. Music, complaining... love...

"Shut up..." I whisper. Solomon looks entertained, but I just ignore him. "Shut up! SHUT UP, SHUT UP, SHUT UP!" I yell. I find the will to concentrate on blocking the thoughts out and my mind ends up going silent.

Except for one tiny voice. It sounds extremely close. To close for comfort.

"Joseeeph! Joseph." It sings. I turn around in circles trying to find the source of the thought.

"JOSEPH!" It yells. Except this time it sounds different. More subtle.

I  turn around one more time, and Beverley is sitting up in her bed, her hand on her head with a dazed look on her face.
