Beginning of the end

It was already after school. Time passes by quickly when you avoid everyone and think of several ways to blow up the universe. She already aware of the fact that this Holy Grail War wouldn't be normal. A Greater Grail War perhaps? No. This was different. The young mage couldn't exactly pinpoint it. Seems like the Grail didn't think there was a problem as there was no Ruler servant.

She was on her way home as it was already dark. Everyone had left ages ago but she preferred to stick around to think about things. The breeze at school was quite relaxing when there was no one around and when it was winter.

Yes winter. The season that included her dreaded birthday. The last day of the year. No matter how one put it, December 31st would always signify 'the end'. The next day would erase everything of that day as if it never existed. As if she never existed. She scoffed at these thoughts. Existing was a pain to begin with.

Upon reaching the Tohsaka estate, she opened the gate and headed to the door, opening that with ease as well. Once closing it, she simply stood in the doorway to see if she could sense a presence. Specifically her father. She really didn't want to deal with him. Blaming her for Rin's death. Ha. What a joke. Not that it wasn't her fault. It was her fault for trying to do that ritual again after it had failed previously but she was too stupid to realize it. So focused on her that it had cost the life of someone dear to her once again.

Someone with a name like yours could never be bad luck!

She shook off the memory as she took off her shoes and headed towards the lab. She was doing this for her. Killing for her. Everything was to bring her back. Yes, her motives were selfish. She wouldn't want her doing this, suffering like this. But being selfish was a human trait and as long as she kept believing that, she could do anything.

She removed the red tarp that covered a summoning circle.

She was known as the Child of Misfortune.

She took a deep breath.
