You Can't Escape The Madness

Chapter 3

Violet's eye grew wide and started backing away from the strange boy but stopped when she realized she would end up hitting into more prickly thorns.  She stared nervously at the approaching boy.  He stopped and noticed how scared and confused Violet looked.  "Violet, please tell me you remember your best friend...Jak." Jak said with sadness now in his eyes.  "I...don't." Violet said quitely and looked down at her converses which were now somewhat bloody from her cuts.  

"It's not the real Violet, Jak." A girl sneered from behind the two.  Violet looked over to see a girl with edgy dark brunette hair which was mostly covered by a black beanie.  Two red horns stuck out from the beanie.  She also had matching red demon wings and a tail.  The girl was wearing a black hoodie with red skinny jeans and black skate shoes. "She's probably just another one of Demetrius's creations set out to spread more madness and destructuion around." The girl explained while death glaring at Violet with her piercing red eyes. "He's trying to fool us making us believe that our "beloved" Violet has came back to save us..."  

"Nonsense, Scarlett." Jak shook his head at the girl known as Scarlett then looked back at Violet.  "I was best friends with Violet and I deffiently know that's the real Violet...she's grown up alot now."  Jak gave Violet a genuine smile which caused Violet to become more relaxed around these odd people.  "Then why does she have no idea who the hell are we!?" Scarlett asked with frustration in her voice.  "Calm yourself, my dear." Jak put out his hand to Scarlett acting as if that would calm this demonic girl down.  Scarlett rolled her eyes while sipping tea and gave up trying to talk sense into Jak.  Jak faced Violet once again and says "So I'm guessing you forgot all about us since you've been gone for what seems like forever." Jak said.  

Violet furrouwed her eyebrows at Jak.  What does he mean that she's been here before?  "Ah, you don't even remember coming here at all, am I right?" Jak asked.  Violet nodded slowly still trying to process this confusing conversation into her head.  "Well, I'm Jak the Madhatter." Jak took off his hat and bowed to Violet.  "And that's," Jak paused and pointed at Scarlett. "Scarlett, The Demon Girl." Jak smiled and whispered to Violet "She's quite the character."  "I heard that." Scarlett growled from her seat.  Jak chuckled and faced Violet again.  "I use to be your best friend but sadly I see you have forgotten me and your world...perhaps Demetrius did this to you." Jak rubbed his chin taking the possilbilty into consideration. 

"Who's Demetrius?" Violet asked noticing everyone seems to be talking about him in a bad way.  "An asswhole!" Scarlett snarled and broke her tea cup because just thinking about him angers the demon girl dearly.  "Oh great, Scarlett! Now I must go out and find another tea cup to use for the tea parties!" Jak sighed dramatically.  Scarlett shoots him one of her death glares.  "Ah, where our my manners?" Jak asked himself and put out his arm for Violet. "Shall we enjoy some tea?" He asked.  Violet stared at him but then hooked her arm into his and they both walked to the table and sat down.

"Tea?" Jak asked handing out a cup to Violet.  "No, thanks." Violet said for she despises tea and perfers coffee.  "So what brought you here to Trivium, my dear?" Jak asked while pouring some tea for himself.  "The last thing I remember before I came here was that I was chasing a talking orange cat that had my heart-shaped necklace and it ended up tricking me into a black hole." Violet explained with a sigh and realized how silly she sounded.  Scarlett and Jak both sat up in their seats very fastly and asked in unison "A talking orange cat and heart shaped necklace!?" 

Violet looked at them in confusion and said "Why, yes...I know it sounds ridiculous but I'm pretty sure it was all real but I could have been hallucinating..."  "Oh no, that orange cat is real." Jak assured the girl. "His name is Jeffery." Scarlett said and seemed to scowl as soon as she said the name Jeffery.
