Samantha woke up, she was about to wake Jon up but he wasn't there. She  searched for her glasses in the night table, she placed them on. She looked around the room, there was no sign of him. She knew it was too good to be true, that a guy like him would even notice her. Samantha took a deep breath and began to get ready for school. In the back of her mind, she always thought that she wasn't good enough for him, that he was going to leave her sooner or later, he picked the perfect day...Prom day.

Prom...One of the most important days of a young, high school girl. The day, she gets to be a princess for a day and spend time with her friends, mostly those leaving to college to different states once graduation happens. Sam always dreamed about wearing a beautiful dress, getting picked up in a limousine, being accompanied by the love of her life but it looked it wasn’t happening anymore.

She walked to school, it was the first time she was without him, she felt empty. Sam walked to her classes, Jon still hadn’t shown up, in the lunch room, he was nowhere to be found. She hoped he had left a letter in her locker but she was disappointed to find nothing.

The bell rang, her last class had ended, she sighed, she bit her lip in hope she wouldn’t cry. He knew how much this day meant to her, she didn’t know what she did wrong, what had made him leave in the first place?

She walked home, she unlocked the door, the place was exactly the way she had left it. She laid on her bed, watching TV, switching channels, she ended falling asleep.

Sam woke up a few hours later, feeling a vibration from her phone. She kept searching through her bed sheets until she was able to locate it. The home screen had a text message with Jon's name on it, at least he was alive. She unlocked her phone, the message had a picture of a limousine and a text saying, "Come outside princess."

She squinted, was she reading that right? She shook her head and headed downstairs, she opened the door. She found Jon on one knee with a single, red rose in his hand, he knew it was her favorite flower. He was wearing a black suit, flashing a smile towards her.

She scoffed and tried to close the door, he stopped it by pushing it with his hand, “What’s wrong, princess? You always dreamed of your prom night being like this and I wanted to do it all for you, you deserve this and more,” he smiled, she glared at him, “Babe, what’s wrong?”

Sam was standing in front of him, her arms crossed, he smiled, Jon liked having her mad. “Really Jon? I’ve been worried sick about you, I wake up and you’re not beside me, I go to school and you weren’t there, I get home and you’re nowhere to be found, I thought you had left me,” she sniffled.

She began to walk upstairs, he held her arm, “You think I’d leave you that easy?”

She shook her head, “I mean, I don’t know Jonathan, I’m not exactly the most beautiful girl on the planet.”

“But you are to me, not only beautiful but smart, funny, talented, you mean the world to me, you’re the only person in this world that I can’t live without you.”

“So you leave today and don’t inform me of your whereabouts? Is that how you treat the love of your life? The girl you can't live without?"

“Look, princess. I was setting everything, planning it all for you to have the prom of your dreams, I wanted you to feel like the princess that you are,” he held her hand, “I have a dress for you, a limo and a lot more planned for us, so forgive me, please?”

Looking at his icy blue eyes, his slid back hair, he wore a suit and organized it all for her, she took a deep breath, “Okay, Jonathan, I forgive you but tell me you won’t be here next time, I was worried about you.”
