November 2196 -
The fallen city -
dawn

I quietly crept through the musky alleyway surrounded by looming-grey buildings - rubble cascading down like sprinkles. A high pitched beeping sound entered into my ears and I quickly stopped in my tracks .

I hurled my head frantically from left to right but all I saw were depressed buildings.

My stomach dug itself a pit and churned like a washing machine.

Lungs inflating and deflating like an indesicive balloon .

And my heart was beating as fast as my legs wanting to run.

Eyes dialating , I realised what happening: I dived into cover behind a broken down wall.
The beeping went faster and louder until I heard a deafening blast which made my ears ring like a school bell. I clambered onto the wall and shyly peeked my eyes up just in time a to see a proud building fall to its doom . A loud shreak emitted from the falling building - which I hope were just rusty pipes .

Birds flew in all directions in frenzy as I jumped the wall and ran to the fallen building to escape the loud herd of footprints I had suddenly heard behind me.

I sprinted up the building's fallen side hoping that the thing I had overheard wasn't what I was I thought it was...

"WE GOT A RUNNER!" I heard a man holler.
Yup, it was the Stygians

Gunshots were fired , causing me to increase my running speed.
"THE DISEASE COULD BE ERADICATED IF IT WASN'T FOR YOU" bellowed a Stygian troop at the front of the crowd.
I looked back and taunted
"Its false!" And kept on scurrying up the building like a cockroach.

Suddenly , I gasped as I had spotted an M24* pointed at my head from a building nearby the scene; I gasped before hearing the ground crumble and watched it give way to my feet like a trapdoor.

Tumbling through the air , I braced myself. Not knowing who to pray to, I hoped that it was just the end of the building - not the end of the road...

It felt like I was fazing between forever and the speed of light: just when I thought it was over, I never felt my bones crunching or my eyes bursting out of my head on impact.

After what seemed like an eternity, I felt my feet touch a freezing heavy silk. My body tensed from the feel just before I became engulfed by the liquid.

I floated there eyes widened - I had just escaped from a herd of the strongest force in the world - well what was left of it. It was indeed a great escape. However, I was now soaking wet and not to mention freezing.
I just had to find some clothes.

A/N short first chapter but I think it was a good idea to finish there as to show it was a stop to the action. I aldo need to figure back story wise and I was planning to reveal it soon. In later chapters I will aim for 1000 words (this is 480 words minus Authors note)

*Primary US Sniper Rifle (doesn't mean this is set in America still deciding)
