What if Kurama from Yu Yu Hakusho is the same Kurama from Naruto? I mean, like, what if Kurama was the same fox demon we see in Naruto, could it be because he had just become a demon?
And the reason why he's free and not sealed in a human is because of the fact the bloodline either died out or he was released and had gotten bored with it.
