  Was this punishment?

Noel Reindeer stared at the open field swallowing up that massive prison-like structure. Yellowed grass with splotches of grey and red blew in the dry wind, the wind that sang as it danced through barbed wire.

Two years, That's it.

That's it.

Nope, he's definitely going to die.

He leaned out the window and took in the scents of dry air and stone. Noel's soft curly hair danced in the wind as it pulled and tugged on the ends. It was bright, no doubt about that. He traced the far away windows with my fingertip, quietly imagining which he would end up in. One was cracked, one was completely missing, and three were half hanging out. It was a disaster.

He hoped he'd end up with a good roommate. A tall strong man that will protect me, but also leave me alone. Maybe he'll even be gay! Noel blushed and softly knocked the inside of his wrist against his forehead. He knew he was not here to do dirty things.

Like... kissing.

Noel blushed just thinking about it and softly traced my lips. Would he find someone here? Probably not. But maybe. Maybe he could find someone who would do dirty romantic things with him like hugging and kissing and maybe we'll even cuddle in the same bed!! Without... shirts!!

He let a small grin pass by his eyes. No. That won't happen. He should be more focused on not getting beat up or bullied. Noel had never had much of a problem with bullies up until now because Will would protect him. He's the kind of person Noel hoped his roommate would be. Will was tall-ish, with undercut red hair and the straightest face He'd ever seen. He owes a lot to Will, but he's also the reason why Noel was here today.

The tall lateral pillars stretched and seemed to bend and crack, like a fortress where only nightmares go. It wasn't pretty, but hey, at least it smelled good, right?

Wrong.

After they parked, Noel's mum slowly walked him inside, sniffling and crying the whole way. Mrs. Reindeer was more scared than Noel was. She had forced him to partake in an intense four-day self-defense training lesson, to help him protect himself.

"Sw-sw-sweetie... I'm- I'm so sorry my baby...." She let out a groaning cry and pulled another tissue out of her bag. She knew that Noel hadn't committed the crime but couldn't do anything to stop him from coming here. Because Noel wouldn't let her.

As soon as they got to the front gate, they could hear the hollers of delinquents and could smell the stench of pubescent male sweat.

"Baby are you sure? We can go back and talk to the judge? Heck, we can even-"

"Mum, I'll be fine. It's just two years, right?" He held her hands up to his face and rubbed his exfoliated cheek on them, so her crying would relax to sniffling. "I love you, but I'll be fine!! 'Won't even need the self-defense classes!" She burst into tears again and wailed as he walked through the gated entrance to the main hallway. Noel could still see her sobbing as he walked into the place he would spend his next few years.

Mr. Stone, the principal ( Noel knew him from the school website), came up to him with a straight face.

"Hello, Mr. Reindeer. Welcome to Greyhills."
