It was a violent and isolated life. The worst thing of all was that instead of trying to escape, I got used to it. I fell in to a cave, but I stopped trying to climb back out of it, back in to the light and learned how to live in the darkness instead.

'' You tricked me! ''

'' And you fell for it like a complete idiot! '' Baekhyun grinned in triumph and tightened his grip on my wrist. '' Hurts, doesn't it? Now you know exactly how heartbroken I felt when you ran out of the police station yesterday. Even if on the outside I was cursing the day you crossed my path and kicking a trash can. ''

I nervously looked around the police station and glared at the tired cops that were eyeing me with confusion and curiosity. It was only a little bit past seven in the morning and the ones on the day shift were coming to work, to replace the night shift people. They all had tired faces, they were downing one vending machine coffee after another and chain smoking cigarettes. Some of them were finishing up their reports, others were having tired conversations and it was clear that no one was planning to put me back in a cell yet, but I still couldn't shake off my nervousness and suspicion.

'' Do we really have to do this? Can't we just investigate from your home? I like your flower patterned couch and the variety of cup noodles and sweet cereals that you keep in your kitchen cupboards instead of actual healthy and nutritious food, '' I protested, purposely being loud to make the cops that were standing nearby, chuckle in amusement at the embarrassed Baekhyun.

'' That's exactly why we won't be investigating from my home, '' he hissed and shot a warning glare in my direction. '' I don't need to have you finding out any more secrets about me, brat. Now stop whining or I'm taking back my promise to buy you some food for lunch. From now on, we'll be meeting here instead of my home. I don't even want to know how you got in this morning, but you can't keep doing that. ''

I pulled my arm from his grip and shoved my hands in my pockets. He narrowed his eyes and carefully observed me, to see if I was going to try to run like I did yesterday. When he noticed that I won't, he nodded in approval and continued walking. I lowered my head and lazily trailed after him. My voice was quiet when I mumbled: '' I got tired of the tunnels, so I invited myself in your house. You've been underground only for a few hours at the same time. It's different when you live there. ''

You are desperate and all you want is to go out and feel the sunlight on your skin again, but once you do, you still feel like an outsider.

People treated you like one too.
