Warnings: Gruesome details, violence, sadism, lots of blood, cursing, and death.
A/N: This chapter is kind of rougher than my others in the sense that this is as dark as it's gonna get for me? I think this was as far as I was willing to take this whole thing so. Be weary of that I guess, and heed the warnings!
Shawn's eyes began to glaze over once he realized what he'd done.
It's not my fault, he tried to convince himself as he watched the girl fall to the ground. She ran at me, it's not my fault.
However, his emotions always seemed to get the best of him at times like these.
Y/N was screaming at the top of her lungs, never before experiencing this kind of pain. Her attempt to attack Shawn as he walked into the door was fruitless, the man shooting a bullet through her skin before she even got the chance to do so first.
In the three nights he was gone, Y/N had successfully managed to stop Sinqua's bleeding with some ripped fabric from her shirt, but the man was still falling in and out of consciousness. Surprised he'd even survived for this long, she wasn't going to give up on him yet. While he was knocked out again on that last afternoon, she moved his body behind boxes somewhere in the room, hoping he could muffle his grunts of pain if he woke up so that Shawn couldn't find him outright.
She then grabbed one of Shawn's handguns that was laying around and tried her luck with it, making sure it was loaded and ready. The next few hours that passed were brutal as she waited in the bare silence, nothing nor nobody to keep her company. Her fingernails fiddled with the metal of the gun as she rested her head on the wall next to the door, looking up to the dark ceiling.
No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't make sense of the situation. Something was wrong with Shawn, that much was obvious, but why her? Why did he decide to do what he did? Was everything he'd told her so far a lie?
She didn't want to bother herself with those kinds of thoughts- She wanted to focus on her escape, but there was nothing else to do as she sat, staring into the darkness.
Her thoughts were finally interrupted when she heard the slamming of a car door, and at that exact moment, she began to rethink her entire plan. What if he saw through her? What if he finds Sinqua? What if she didn't shoot fast enough and she ends up dead?
She gulped down the lump in her throat and pushed all of her fears to the side. If she was going to go down, she was going to go down swinging.
Pressing her ear to the door for the millionth time, she heard his faint footsteps approaching the door, the lock being fiddled with a second later. Y/N's heart raced faster than ever and sweat bead down her forehead as she quietly took a few steps back from the door, holding the handgun firmly in her hands.
It was now or never.
Time seemed to move in slow motion as he unlocked and opened the door, immediately raising his gun as if he already knew she was standing behind the door. Her finger moved to press the trigger but her gun was on the ground before she got the chance, a scream rippling through the room in waves
She didn't know when it happened but she'd somehow ended up on the ground dangerously close to where Sinqua was hidden, her clothes splattered with her own blood from the bullet wound in her hand. The adrenaline coursing through her body was working to stop the pain, but only a little. She still felt the harshness of his hands on her body as he dropped to the ground next to her and began to grab at her in panic, hot tears running down his cheeks.
