Warnings: Cursing

"Excuse me, Y/N? Mr.Barre would like to speak with you in his office."

Y/N's head whipped up and turned towards Abby, her boss' assistant. Pushing away from her desk the slightest bit, her expression remained neutral.

"Sure," Y/N nodded, shooting a curious glance to her best friend Holland, who was at the desk directly across from her. "Is this about anything in particular?"

Abby tightened her grip on her clipboard and her face fell slightly, clearly just wanting her to stop asking questions. "I believe it's about your upcoming interviews. Please meet him upstairs as soon as possible. You know he doesn't like to wait."

With that, Abby turned on her heel and walked away, allowing Y/N to finally roll her eyes to the back of her head.

Holland sat up straighter, giving Y/N a teasing smirk, "Oh no, Big Boss man wants to see you.. You must be in some serious trouble."

Y/N found herself rolling her eyes once more, giving her friend a small smile before pushing in her seat and making her way to the elevator. The ride to the top floor was silent before she finally reached her destination.

The top floor was an area that nobody was really allowed to go to unless specifically called upon by the boss. It was fancy, all paste white, with only a waiting area and a receptionist desk before the wall that blocked the boss' office.

Y/N strutted to the man at the desk, giving her name, to which he merely nodded towards the door. Taking his hint, Y/N walked into the office, shutting the door behind her. There Mr.Barre sat at his desk, shuffling through some files.

"Mr.Barre," Y/N grinned, taking her place in the seat across from him. "To what do I owe this pleasure?"

The man looked up at her and let out a small laugh, shaking his head and looking up to the ceiling. "Y/N, for the love of God, when are you just going to call me Noah when we're up here?"

Y/N chuckled at this, crossing her legs. "I dunno. Maybe when you and Holland go public."

"You know that can't happen." He insisted with a firm shake of his head, "Can't have people thinking she's getting special benefits because we're dating."

Y/N snickered, "Oh, please. She's been working here for longer than me and hasn't been promoted yet. I think you're just being an asshole."

Noah slammed his hand down on the table, nose flaring. "How dare you speak to your boss like that!"

It was a cute attempt at being intimidating, but Y/N had been friends with the man for far too long to be serious with him. She burst out laughing, and in turn, Noah began laughing too, the sound filling the too-large office.

"Okay, okay," Y/N wiped a tear at the corner of her eye, "Seriously, why'd you call me up here?"

"So," Noah clapped his hands together, "First, I was wondering if you'd help me out with planning Holland's birthday party. I want it to be special, and since you're her best friend, you know.."

Y/N held a hand up and smiled widely, "Don't worry about it, anything you put together will be great. How about you come over tomorrow night so we can plan?"

"Are you busy tonight or something?"

"I've heard rumors that I'd be interviewing someone big tomorrow?" Y/N cocked her head curiously, "I assumed that's what you called me here for. I'll probably spend my night researching them so everything goes smoothly."
