She told me she loved me,
I gave her a smile,
and when we laid back
she stayed for a while.

We laughed and we ran
'till our lungs felt restrained.
We both looked so happy,
it's funny it rained.

It was dark in my home,
rain filling the attic,
and when lightning hit
it filled me with static.

So now when she asks
if I'm feeling alright,
she checks for a storm
and turns on the light.
