Nothing too heavy.
Pam knocks and walks I to my bedroom, smiling at me.

"God must've sent a blessing for you. Worth the wait. Are you happy?" She asks. I know she means well.

"Yeah.. a little nervous." I lied. I'm petrified. Yes, I've wanted to leave this place for forever now, but I'll leave Pam behind.

"I'll miss you." She answers while taking something from her pocket.

She hands it to me.

A small necklace with a cross on it. It's black. She must've painted it herself.

I hug her.

"You're always going to be my true mother." I say very quietly. I hope she hears my voice.

"You'll always be my son."

The drive was quiet. Ms. V was talking to the man about things they needed to buy at the store later.
