Helpless (Marichat)

I. Glaciator

Marinette stood on her balcony. She had just defeated Glaciator, an akuma that SHE caused. She felt horrible. She felt like Chloe. That was a feeling she never wanted to experience ever again. She wondered how Chloe was able to sleep at night knowing all the akumas she caused because Marinette couldn't sleep after causing ONE akuma.

"What's wrong, Princess, you seem blue."

Marinette turned around in surprise at the voice to find it was only Chat, "Hey, Chat, I just feel so guilty. i caused an akuma."

"Princess, you shouldn't feel so guilty. So you caused ONE akuma, it's no big deal. Everyone has caused an akuma at some point. Anyways, Ladybug and I already fixed everything."

"That's not the point. The point is that I caused another opportunity for Halkmoth to get your miraculous. I caused you to have to drop everything and save me. Again."

"Mari quit torturing yourself over this. It's not like you are the only person who's caused someone to get akumatized."

"Easy for you to say. You've never caused an akuma."

"Actually I have."

"Really?"

"Yes. I'm human, too, remember."

"Oh, I think I remember. Wasn't his name Copycat? Everyone thought you stole the Mona Lisa."

"That's the one."

"Thanks, Chat, I don't feel so bad anymore."

"Well, Princess, that's my job. Now you should get some sleep."

"Okay, good night, Chat."

"Good night, Princess," Chat messed her hand and started to leap between buildings away

Marinette waited until Chat was just another black dot before going down into her room and chainring into her pjs. She got into bed but yet again, couldn't sleep.

"Tikki, do you really think that Chat actually loves La-I mean-me?"

"I think so, Marinette," said the kwami.

"Who knew he was so sweet? I feel like I just met the true him."

"Marinette, I know this is all so hard to wrap your head around, but you have school tomorrow and it is almost midnight. You have to sleep if you even want to wake up on time."

"You're right, Tikki, good night."

"Good night, Marinette."

—Time Skip—

The next day, Marinette couldn't get her conversation with Chat out of her head. 'Did he mean all those things he told her? Did he really love Ladybug? If he loves Ladybug, would he love her if he found out? Why was she caring so much about this?' Marinette couldn't even think about school right now, she was still too confused.

"Marinette!"

At this Mari sat up straight and looked at Alya.

"What is it?"

"Class ended two minutes ago. Time for lunch."

"Oh thanks, Alya. I was lost in thought."

"Ooo about what? Was it Adrien?"

"No"

"Was it a boy?"

"Actually yes."

"Then who? Tell me!"

"I can't tell you."

Alya groaned at this, "Mari, tell me."

"Fine, I was thinking about Chat Noir."

"Wait, what?" Alya was in complete shock.

"I mean he saved me from an akuma, he came and checked up on me afterwards and we had a little chat."

"About what?!!"

"Nothing..."

"Marinette Dupain-Cheng, don't you dare lie to me."

"Fine he told me he was actually in love with Ladybug. I thought that he was just being his charismatic self around her. i guess I'm just processing it."

"I still don't understand why this is so important but okay."
