It was early Saturday morning and I opened my eyes, threw the blankets off and stepped onto my pink rug. I looked around to see the rays of sun streaming in through the cracks in my blinds.
I walked out my door into the hall to find the smell of pancakes cooking down stairs. I went down and walked into the brightly lit kitchen with yellow walls. I then determined the smell of the pancakes. It was my mom. when she realized that I had come down she ran over to me excited and embraced me in a hug saying "happy 15th birthday sweetie." " Thanks mom" I replied. "Why don't you go get dressed while I finish cooking your pancakes." I agreed and went upstairs when I walked in the first thing I saw was my doll, Alice.
I then remembered when I got her, it was my 5th birthday I thought it was the best gift anyone could ever have given me. The theme of the party was the rain forest. The house was decorated with fake vines and flowers. When all my friends showed up they were all wearing animal masks. When it was time for gifts everybody sat in a circle with me in the middle. As I opened the gifts I heard everyone whispering to one another saying "she is so lucky" and "I wish I was her." Then when I opened the last gift nobody said a word. It was a beautiful Barbie doll. I soon realized that it was from my best friend Kelly. After all my friends left I was upstairs playing with my doll and it was that moment I decided to name it Alice. That was the last birthday party my dad came too. One week later he died of a heart attack.
