Hi guys, I'm Damian the author of this story. This is the first story that I'm going to make here on Wattpad. I just wanted to clarify that even though there are a lot of Mythological Greek characters in this story, it is not a Percy Jackson fanfic. It's just a little story I'm going to do for fun with the characters my friends and I made for a myth project we had to do in English. Also beware that this story is probably going to be really bad since I'm only 13. Please feel free to bring any grammar and spelling errors you find in the story. I hope you enjoy.
"Astra," I heard Adeus call from downstairs. Letting out a little sigh, I took off my headphones. Leaving my room, I went to the top of the 'grand' staircase. Climbing onto the gold railing, I slid down it. As I made my way to the great room I saw Adeus sitting by the fireplace, coaxing swirls of fire into his palms. He shot the sparks at Xenis, who was reading a magazine on the couch. Annoyed, she flicked a finger at the fireplace extinguishing it in the processes. He rolled his eyes.
"You called me?" I asked as I look at Adeus.
They looked up. Xenis smiled. "Well b-."
Adeus interrupted. "Because you don't have powers, you can't go to the academy so you have to go to school with the mortals." He grinned nastily. Xenis sighed. I could feel the smile forming on my face. I could tell from the look on their faces. They were both surprised by how excited I was. I threw my head back.
"Yaaaass!!! When do I start!? Can I call them Muggles?! Where is it?! What do I-." She interrupted me.
"Whoa, calm down. It's all on this pamphlet." She summoned a piece of paper in her hand with the flick of a finger. I jumped up and grabbed the piece of printed paper from her. "I went and bought your uniform and books, so you can start school on Monday." He told me. I felt a grin sneak on my face as I ran up the stairs.
I leaped onto the pastel pink sheets of my canopy bed. The fabric embroidered with constellations of silk thread. Then Cosmos jumped onto my bed. I petted the fur on the top of her head, looking at her white fur that was littered with blotches of black. "You're a gorgeous cat aren't you," I told her as I hugged her letting her paws hang above my arms. I looked at the pamphlet that lied on my bed, I almost forgot I had it. Opening it I skimmed through the contents to see if there was anything interesting about the school. Cosmos placed her head under my chin looking like she was interested in the paper in my hands. Then I saw that it was in Hawaii...HAWAII of all places. As I read it I let out a little sequel of joy at the fact. I looked at the pictures of the halls with its lockers, the red doors with their small glass windows, and the natural light flooding through the halls. It was a pretty nice school, I hope I'm don't stand out there.
Closing off pamphlet, I placed Cosmos on the ground. I made my way to my bathroom. Turning on the electric toothbrush, I placed it in my mouth. I turned on my phone, the light engulfing my eyes. I checked all of the stories of the people I followed. I looked at them all trying to read anything that caught my interest but tried to not take too long. Except for when I reached Nick Weaver's. No matter how long his rant was I would read all of it. my aspiration to be his #1 fan would help me through it. It's kind of a dumb aspiration for a goddess to have but I didn't really care. I mean was the cutest, most talented guy I've ever seen. Not in person, of course, I scrolled down my feed of mostly either pictures or edits of him. Somehow, even after getting about a million followers he has never once dated anyone. I don't know how a dude like him could ever be single. I finished brushing my teeth and turned off my phone.
I changed into my pajamas. Closing the door I turned off the lights and made my way to my bed. I turned off the star-shaped fairy lights that were wrapped around the canopy of my bed. It only left my bedside lamp on. I pulled my sheets over me as I looked at the wall. The light of the lamp shined through the cut out in its opaque lamp shade. The light made the shapes of constellations and other minor stars.
It was a nice Sunday morning. I was drinking a cup of hot cocoa with marshmallows in it. Eyes focused on the rays of sunlight peeking from underneath the horizon. Sometimes I wonder how hard it is for Adeus to keep the sun going for all these years. Our dad used to do it before he... I'd prefer not to think about it. I should start preparing for school tomorrow. Xenis said that we're going to take a tour of the school today to see what's it's like so that should be fun.
I placed the mug on my bedside table and grabbed my phone. I wanted to see what other star theme school supplies I could get today. There were novelty star pencils, notebooks, backpacks, pencil cases, and many others. Ordering them online would take to long and I need them by tomorrow. I ran out of my bedroom door and called to Xenis to ask if she could take me to the store. Thankfully she agreed and drove me to the nearest mall.
We walked through the sliding door and I immediately ran to the supply section. I looked at all of the pencils and the notebooks. There were many different shapes and colors. My eyes, of course, were already locked onto the star themed one. They were in packs of 10 and had many different colors. The had been decorated with gold foil stars. I put them into the basket I had grabbed earlier. I also got some composition books, a binder, and other supplies. I went and paid for the. I got back to the car and saw Xenis sitting there checking her phone. I got into the passenger seat and we went back home.
