**Hey, so sorry, I know I didn't give much time for the previous comments question but I wanted to publish something, so I apologize for that, but I'm just gonna do my idea sooo yeahhh okay enjoy! **

Erabelle stood staring at the castle, just like most other new students. She was so captured by the beauty and grandness of it that she just stared. Of course in her mind, it wasn't thought like that, too sum it up it was more like...cool. She was startled out of her trance by a loud, gruff voice shouting

"FIRST YEARS! FIRST YEARS WITH ME!" Era looked up too see a very large man indeed, with a very large beard. He noticed her staring and smiled.

"Why 'ello there! I'm Hagrid, the games keeper. You a first year?" He asked. He seemed very friendly and Era smiled back.

"Yeah, I am! I'm Erabelle." She responded. All the other first years gathered around and they were told to get on the boats. She didn't know anyone but decided on sitting next to a kind looking, sort of chubby boy who was looking around as if searching for something.

"Hi, I'm Erabelle, who are you?" She asked him with a small smile.

"I-I'm Neville. Neville Longbottom." He answered shyly. Era had to hold back a small giggle, the name was rather funny. He seemed nice, and she introduced herself to the others on the boat as well. There was Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley. They all seemed very nice and interesting. (A/N: Sorry if I got the people on the boat wrong, I couldn't remember who it was and I was too lazy to look. Lol.)

Once the first years arrived at the castle we were led into a hallway. A woman who introduced herself as Professor Macgonagall. She then said,

"Welcome to Hogwarts. Now, in a few moments you will pass through these doors and join your classmates, but before you can take your seats, you must be sorted into your houses. They are Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin. Now while you are here, your house will be like your family. Your triumphs will earn you points, any rule breaking and you will lose points. At the end of the year, the house with the most points is awarded the house cup-" But she was interrupted my Neville lunging forward to grab something.

"Trevor!" He exclaimed, grabbing a small toad off the floor. Some students laughed nervously, including Erabelle.

After a minute or so, the doors opened and they were led into a beautiful great hall. It had a ceiling that  looked like a beautiful starry night sky, surrounded by floating candles. There were many other students at the different house tables watching the first years walk through. Era heard Hermione say something but she didn't hear it, for she was too busy looking around. They reached the front of the hall where there was a stool, and on it was an old hat. Behind that was a long table with all the teachers sitting at it. Erabelle noticed one teacher in particular. He had long, straight black hair, piercingly dark eyes, and a hooked nose. He seemed very annoyed at something. When Era looked at him, he noticed after a moment and looked back. He squinted his eyes for a moment, almost looking surprised and then returned to his glare, looking away.

Era's thoughts were interrupted when the hat suddenly began to speak! It began a song like this:

"Oh you may not think I'm pretty,

but don't judge on what you see,

I'll eat myself if you can find,

a smarter hat than me,

You can keep your bowlers black,

Your top hats sleek and tall,

For I'm the Hogwarts Sorting Hat,
