Part Four - Serpents Test

I came back to the question at the dinner table. Is having kids in the Serpents safe?
Jughead immediately said yes.
He must have wanted his whole family in the Serpents, it was crazy. I looked at my stomach, and I said, I wonder if this baby will be in the Serpents.
Jughead said, "We'll of course it will! Well start it's initiation right away!"
I wasn't to sure about that, did I really want them to start that young. Bella only started this year, and we had troubles getting a Serpent jacket that small, but we made it work.
Back to is having kids in the Serpents safe, I think it's not, depending on the kid. The kid has to be able to do whatever an adult Serpent could do. For example, I don't think that Bella can shoot a bow and arrow. But, maybe another kid is smart enough to put smart Penny. I look at Bella as she finishes her Cereal, she had a smiles at me and has a big mile moustache. At laughed, I'm not sure if Bella's ready.
"Maybe we can run a test though each kid who wants to join the Serpents?" Jughead said.
I agreed it was a great idea! The kids who were strong and bold enough to be a Serpent could prove it through the test. But if I kid failed the test, they can't join, and they can try next year.
My only problem is, Jughead has to be ready in case Bella fails the test.

1 week later

It was the time of the test. Cheryl and Toni's boy was there his name is Luke, Fangs boy was there his name was Jacques, his wife is French, Jauquins daughter was there her name was Ruby, and there was Bella.

The first test was remembering the rules.
Bella : remembered 3/5
Luke: remembered 3/5
Jacques: remembered 4/5
Ruby: remembered 5/5

I was right about how some kids are better or stronger at different things.

The next test was the running test for 1 mile.
Bella: 2 minutes
Luke: 1 minute
Jacques: 2 minutes
Ruby: 3 minutes

I'm still right, Ruby had the best score at remembering the rules, but she's a really slow runner!

The next test was bow and arrow shooting.
Bella: 3 points
Luke: 8 points
Jacques: 5 points
Ruby: 3 points

No wonder Cheryl's boy is the best at how and arrow. She must have taught him well!

Jughead, Bella and I were drinking Hot Chocolate while I was checking the scores to see what kids would make it in. You need at least 12 points to make it in, any kid that goes over 12 can make it in. I have Jughead the card with the name(s) of the kids that made it over 12 points. I helped him stand up on top of an old car so he could announce them. I pulled Bella close so we could listen.

"Listen Up!" Jughead yelled out so everyone could hear.
"I'm going to announce who got 12 points and higher and made it in to the Serpents. We will have a yearly test so if you don't make it in this time, there's always next year."

He unfolded the card, and didn't look at it. He looked back up at the crowed and said,

"No hurt feelings to any of the children who didn't make it."

He finally looked at the card. He was devastated. He jumped off of the car.

"Well who the Hell is it?" Yelled Toni.

"It's Luke Topaz-Blossom!" Jughead yelled back in rage.

I was frightened, Bella started to cry because she was scared of how her father was acting. She was raising her hands in the air for me to pick her up. The more I wanted to help Bella fell better by comforting her, the more I knew I couldn't lift her while I was pregnant. Bella finally figured that out to and started to hug my leg. I had tears all over my ripped jeans.

Jughead marches over towards Bella and I, and he rips Bella's Serpent jacket off of her. Bella cried even more because she was now cold. I watched Jughead put it on Luke and how proud his mothers looked. I took my jacket off and gave it to Bella since she was cold. When Jughead finally came back to us, he gave me his Serpent jacket to keep warm, and picked up Bella and we headed to the car.

Jughead buckled Bella into her car seat. While he walked around the car to get to the drivers seat I told Bella that bother he father and I were very proud of what she did today. Jughead hoped in the car and started the engine.
"I can't believe that the Blossom-Topaz family got their way! They were the ones that wanted us to take out Bella in the first place." Jughead said.

I grabbed his hand and told him that everything was going to be fine and we had nothing to worry about.

"There is something to worry about!" Jughead said.
"What is it?" I asked.
"A babysitter for Bella while we're at the meetings." He answered.

I thought to myself, maybe we could get Polly's daughter Juniper, she must be almost 16 by now.

I threw he idea at Jughead and he agreed that t was a good idea. I was happy that I would finally get to see my niece, haven't seen her in ages.
