"Can we stop?" Tyler pulls the car into a Quik-E Stop and Caroline rushes out of the car only stopping to open the door. "Gotta pee."
"Yeah man I'm heading there now." You see, Tyler had been planning on leaving Caroline for awhile now and this was the perfect chance so he backed the car out and drove away, leaving the blonde stranded.
"Hey Tyler I-." The parking lot was empty, not a single car in sight. "What the hell?"
"Hey miss, you looking for someone?" The girl behind the counter raises an eyebrow in question.
"Have you seen a black jeep?"
"Yeah. Left a couple minutes before you came back out. Someone you know?" Caroline runs a hand through her wild curls.
"Yeah my boyfriend. I swear if he left me stranded here, we're done." The girl then reaches into her pocket.
"You can borrow my phone if you'd like." Caroline takes the phone gratefully and dials her boyfriend's number.
"You've reached the voicemail of Tyler Lockwood. Leave your name, number, and a brief message and I'll get back to you as soon as I can." "God damnit."
"Hello?" Caroline sighs in relief when some picks up.
"Elena he left me stranded." The bell above the door rang and Caroline jumps. "Tyler stopped to let me go pee and just drove off."
"How am I supposed to know where I am? We were still driving back from Mystic Falls." Caroline sighs into the phone. "Listen I'll call back as soon as I find out okay?"
"Bye. Love you Lena." She quickly ends the call and hands the girl back her phone. "Thank you."
"You cannot abandon me Elijah, not when New Orleans is there for the taking." Caroline peeks her head over the too tall shelves at the man in the back, trying to whisper into his phone and failing miserably. "No wait-."
"Is there anything for free here?" The girl nods and points to the 24 hour hot chocolate in the corner. "Thanks. Bastard took my wallet and phone with him."
"That'll be $24.58." Caroline looks back at the girl.
"I never thought he would just leave you know? I thought what we had was special and now I'm stuck here." The man looked like he had been about to leave before she said that.
"You're stranded?" She nods her head and he points towards the back tables. "What I don't understand is why someone would leave someone as beautiful as you behind."
"Oh you're flirting with me already." Caroline laughs nervously as they both sit in the small booth.
"I'm stating a fact." Her cheeks flare up and she looks down at her hands.
"So? Why am I over here?" The blonde looks out the window, half expecting someone to jump out and grab her. "I don't even know you."
"I was contemplating on whether to be a gentleman and offer you a place to stay or be an arse and leave you here." She let out a breathy laugh and her eyes met his. "Guess I chose the former."
"Guess so." Fiddling with the necklace around her neck, Caroline looks down at the name Tyler and rips it off. "Asshole."
"You should throw it away." She goes over the words in her head and stands up, walking over to the garbage can and chucks her necklace in. "Better?"
"No." Maybe she should do something spontaneous for once. "You know what?"
"What?" Caroline walks over to the table and grabs her jacket, sliding it on.
"I'll stay with you on one condition." When he doesn't say anything she continues. "No funny business."
"Fine. " He stands up and starts heading towards the door. "I'm Klaus by the way. Klaus Mikaelson."
"Caroline Forbes."

"Are we there yet?" Caroline knows that she's probably annoying but she's bored. Klaus chuckles from beside her but shakes his head. "How far do you live anyways?"
"Just a few more miles love, don't you worry." The blonde sighs and continues to stare out the window. "What's on your mind?"
"Huh? Oh it's nothing." She looks down at her hands. "It's just- Tyler and I were together for 4 years. It's hard to believe that he would just leave me behind."
"He obviously doesn't care about you if he did that." His eyes meet hers for a brief second before she forces herself to look away.
"I know." Her head shoots up. "Crap."
"What?"
"I forgot to call Elena." The blonde looks about ready to rip her hair out when Klaus holds out his phone. "You would let me use your phone."
"Sure. I mean it's not like you have yours." That is a good point. She takes the phone from his hand, quickly typing in Elena's number.
"Yeah Elena, I'm fine." The girl on the other end of the line sounds frantic but Caroline quickly calms her down. "I'm going to stay with someone until I can get the money to fly home."
"Don't worry I can handle myself." The blonde says her goodbyes and hands the phone back to Klaus. "She was just worried you were a crazy kidnapper or something."
"Well I assure you that I'm not." Caroline laughs, the sound bubbling up from her throat.
"You live in New Orleans?" They pass the city's sign as Caroline's eyes widen. "I've always wanted to come here."
"Well I guess you get your wish." She watches all the sights fly by her and soon they arrive at a mansion.
"Oh my god." She gaped at the size as Klaus pulled up to the entrance. "Are you like a millionaire or something?"
"Something." The inside was more luxurious than the outside and she turned to look at the man who had saved her life.
"I don't any clothes."
"I would say borrow some of my sisters but she's arriving tomorrow morning and she would mind." He took her up to a spare bedroom and if it was possible, her mouth opened wider. "I'll take you shopping for some tomorrow. Would you like the full New Orleans tour?"
"Sure." Caroline pondered as she looked down at her clothes. "I'm fine wearing this to bed. At least it's comfortable."
"Alright." Klaus paused at the doorway. "Goodnight, love."
"Goodnight." The door closed behind and she fell onto her back on the bed. "Oh my god."
"Maybe I'll actually get some sleep tonight." The blonde slid her jacket off and set it on the desk chair, slipping under the covers on the bed. "Goodnight Caroline." A few moments later her breathing evened out and she was asleep.
