"Ugh." The pain coursing through her head is unbearable as Caroline peels her eyes open. "Klaus?" She feels a soft mattress underneath her and a blanket is draped over her body. "Klaus." Someone moves on the other side of the bed and they let out a loud groan.

"Caroline where are we?" The blonde blocks out the sunlight with her hand and turns to the man next to her.

"I don't know- I think we were knocked unconscious." Another wave of pain courses through her head and she groans. "That woman- she was doing magic."

"I know." The hybrids headache goes away after a few seconds and he sits on the edge of the bed. "You want to know my secret?"

"Yes. I need to know that I can trust you." Caroline crawls across the bed until she's sitting next to the Mikaelson.

"I'm a vampire and a werewolf." Caroline's eyes meet the ground as the thoughts swirl in her mind. "That woman is a witch and her name is Genevieve."

"So the impossible.. is real." She hadn't posed it as a question so it meant she believed somewhat. "How?"

"Vampires were only developed about a century ago but witches and werewolves have been around for thousands of years." Caroline looks up and meets the hybrids eyes.

"Okay." Her okay is reassuring and not just a simple okay. "So what's a binding spell?"

"If one gets hurt so does the other." Caroline picks a pin up off the table next to her. Klaus takes the pin out of her hand and pricks his finger, watching as she winces and sucks on her own.

"Ow." He puts the pin back on the table next to the bed and turns to the blonde.

"I'm sorry for not telling you." She nods and places her hand on his.

"It's okay. I understand. I might have freaked." She turns her head so she's completely facing him and finds their faces a few inches apart.

"I was afraid you'd run." Their faces kept inching closer until they were half an inch apart.

"Well I didn't an-." His lips collided with hers and she gasps into his mouth. Her arms instinctively went up around his neck as did his around her waist, pulling each other closer. When they finally pull away from the kiss, they both were breathing heavily.

"I'm sorry." He rests his forehead against hers and laughs. "I couldn't help myself."

"That's okay. It was partly me as well." She pulls Klaus close enough for a hug and sets her head on his shoulder. "Thank you."

"For what?" No one except Camille or his siblings had ever thanked him before.

"You gave me a place to stay when I had nowhere else to go." She pulls away slightly to look into his eyes, setting a hand on his cheek. "You also helped me realize what douchebag Tyler is."

"I'm glad." She smiles and stands up, holding out her hand. "I think I'm ready to see the rest of New Orleans now. Are you willing to show me?"

"Always." He takes her hand and she pulls him up. His hand stays in her the whole way downstairs and into the city, it turns out they had been in one of the many guest bedrooms in Klaus' home.

"Nik, Marcel stood me up." Klaus had been peacefully painting at his easel after leaving Caroline to take a nap. "And who's that human girl?"

"I don't care what Marcellus is doing these days." He brought his paint covered shirt over his head and threw it on the table next to him. "She is none of your business."

"And you're buying HER new clothes. What about me?" The female Mikaelson folds her arms over her chest and lets out a huff. "Tell me Nik."

He couldn't keep anything from his little sister, even she knew that, they were the closest of the Mikaelson siblings. "I just- I feel this connection to her that I haven't felt since Camille. Caroline- she makes me want to be better and I've only known her a few days."

"Wow." Rebekah hadn't heard her brother talk so passionately about someone since the last woman he had been with and that had been years ago but the only truth was that she wanted to see him happy again. "I'm glad you're finally starting to be happy again brother."

"About the new clothes, you're perfectly capable of buying your own." Rebekah rolls her eyes and wraps her arms around her brother in a hug. "Thank you for understanding."

"Of course." Rebekah's phone starts buzzing. "Hello?" She walks over to the doorway as she listens to the person on the other end, stopping as they finish. "Does this Caroline know Elena Gilbert?"

"Yeah why?" The person on the other end continues talking and Rebekah listens attentively.

"She wants to know where Caroline is. Elena would like to speak to her." At that moment Caroline decided to make herself present, appearing at the doorway.

"I heard my name." Rebekah turns to face the other blonde, handing her the phone. "Hello?"

"Care you never called." Caroline calms the brunette down and makes plans to have her fly down to New Orleans. "Okay. I'll get the first flight out."

"How's Stefan by the way?" Klaus and Rebekah's heads turn towards Caroline at the familiar name. "Well tell him I miss him. Bye Lena."

"Love you too." She ends the call, handing the phone back to the other blonde. "As you heard she's coming to New Orleans."

"Yes, I heard the name Stefan. His last name doesn't happen to be Salvatore does it?" Klaus takes a tentative step forward as Caroline furrows her eyebrows.

"It is. Why?" Klaus nods his head as he turns to look back at the landscape he had been working on before his sister interrupted him. "Klaus?"

"Oh just knew him about 100 years ago." The vampire finally notices that his sister had left the room.

"Wait, Stefan's a vampire?" Her eyes widen and he realizes that he had almost forgotten that she hadn't known about vampires before. "So that means Damon's one too, right?"

"Most likely." Klaus ponders before looking up at her. "Do you have any plans tonight?"

"I don't." She looks back up after having been distracted by a crack in the floor. "Why?"

"I would like to go out to dinner as a family but I don't want you to feel left out." She nods in understanding and soon a smile covers her face. "Is that a yes?"

"It is." She goes to leave but turns around. "Fancy I'm guessing?"

"Of course. All your new clothes has been brought up to your room." Caroline smiles in gratification before leaving the room, closing the door behind her.
