so this is love

( just to refresh your memory - you're on the bus to school for your first day ) 

*15 minutes later* 

"well y/n johnson, welcome to your first day here at westerburg high!" ( sorry i love heathers ) 

"thank you so much. i need a warm welcome. i'm just nervous"

"don't be. hey, how about this: i'll ask the principal if i can be your tour guide for the school. i can take you to all of your classes and we don't have to stay. you just introduce yourself to the class and leave. the reason it works like that is because the tour guide has to show you the whole school. they're pretty serious about it too. they want to make the school a good place but it's kind of weird"

"my last school was weird too. people would walk around wearing like ten pounds of makeup at least. but i'm happy to have a fresh start. eh- especially with you by my side, violet"

she puts her hair behind her ear and does a small smile 

"i'm glad that you're by my side too" you look down and see her hand on yours. what is a heartbeat you wonder to yourself

you guys walk into school to see people everywhere. kids wearing all sorts of colors ranging from lime green to navy blue.

 "you're undecided now, so what are you gonna do?" one of your favorite songs starts to play on the overcome. song from 1939 by ella fitzgerald 

"wow i love this song"

"me too. y/n, you have a good taste of music" and she winks at you. winks. you can hardly contain yourself and all you want to do is scream with joy! but... you can't

you and violet go to the principals office to ask about the tour for the school. he says yes and you guys give big smiles 

"thank you so much mr. stevens! you won't regret it!"

"i sure hope i don't. but you have to know: whatever happens is on the tour guide. y/n over there will not get blamed. so take great responsibility and pride. have a good day you two"

"you too mr. stevens!"

and you guys leave the office

"so, school start at 7:45 each morning. four classes, each 90 minutes. lunch is during the middle of third period. so you hear the bell and go to the lunch room. and after that you'll go to th----" all you hear is your heartbeat. you're day dreaming and just thinking about how perfect someone can be

"--- and so that's all you have to know. got it?"

"oh wait uh yeah. got it"
