Bismillah (in the name of God)
~
I also realized, before starting the actual dua's I should explain how to make dua.In real terms, you don't actually have to do these steps to make dua. You can just be anywhere making dua, even if it's just a few words you chant in your head, like "Ya Allah (O God) help me reach the bus stop in time)" that in itself is a form of dua.
But the formal way, the way that makes Allah (God) the happiest, and eases our hearts the most is this way:
(Follow the steps along if you wish)
1. Put yourself in a comfortable position, preferably sitting on your legs, facing the Kaaba (the holy mosque (place of worship for Muslims) in Makkah).
2. Raise your hands in a cupping motion to a little above chin level a good distance away from your face. You may keep your hands split apart (so they don't touch) of having them touching.
3. Start with Bismillah hir Rahman nir-Raheem (Praise is to God the most the merciful and almighty) and praise Allah (God) in any way. Whether it be in English of Arabic.
Ya Maliki-Yom-ideen (Oh God of the last day)
Some English examples are:
Oh King of all Kings.
Oh Creater of the Universe.
3. Now ask away. This can be done in any language, English, French, Spanish, Malay, Japanese, Chinese, whatever you want because God understands is all! He's the one that created humans that created all these languages. But Arabic is always the preferred one because it is such a complex, deep, and beautiful language. It's words can never be truly translated to any other language because no other language has as much emotion or depth as Arabic. And that is why also the Quran of Koran (the holy book of Muslims) is also written in Arabic.
~Alhamdulilah (all praise is to God)
