Mommy was in her room,
higher than heaven.
Daddy was at the bar,
she knew he'd be home soon.
"Little girl" was now her name.
She waited for the day.
The day they'd take her away.
She loathed them,
and the hell hole she called "home."
Daddy stormed into the house
and yelled, "Little girl come here now!"
She knew what he was going to do.
But not this time.
Not this afternoon.
Purple and blue bruises from head to toe.
Now she knew she had to go.
The little girl had had enough.
All she ever wanted was someone to love.
The little girl walked alone.
She hitched a ride not long ago.
She found a place where she could stay.
"Little girl" was her name.
The name that had been thrown away.
The little girl who was alone,
became someone you'll never know.
