Death the Kid sat in his living room at his mansion, his company being Black Star, Tsubaki, Liz, Patty, and Soul.
"Alright. Black Star, I can't believe I'm saying this, but I trust you to get the present for Maka." Kid sighed, running a hand through his not-so-symmetrical hair.
"You got it! You can count on me! I'll get the best gift ever, because I am the best!" Black Star told the group, a smug grin on his face.
Tsubaki sighed at Black Star's actions before turning to Soul. "How come you're not with Maka, isn't she wondering where you are?" She asked the other weapon.
"I told her I was going to go grocery shopping after dinner, so she doesn't know I'm here." Soul explained before getting interrupted by Kid who cleared his throat.
"Liz, Patty, Tsubaki. You three are on decortication duty." The Grim Reaper stated.
"Okayyyyy!" Patty happily cheered, jumping into the air.
"And Soul, you're going to need to take Maka out on a date, so the girls can get into your apartment to make sure the decorations are perfect and have wonderful symmetry." Kid explained. His eyes seemed to sparkle even at the mention of symmetry.
Man, Soul thought, this kid must be crazy. He then nodded, a hint of a smile on his lips.
Kid clapped his hands together. "Alright, and I will make the cake."
"What flavor would she like best Soul?" The shinigami asked, looking directly at Maka's boyfriend.
Not hesitating a moment, Soul told Kid that her favorite kind of cake was Strawberry Shortcake.
"Okay. The cake will be perfect." Kid promised, nodding.
"Ready, Team huddle!" Patty giggled, throwing her hand into the center of them.
Liz rubbed the back of her neck, "Patty you're so weird sometimes." But she put her other hand over her sisters anyway.
Black Star scoffed, as it was his turn to put his hand in. "Please, I'm number one, doesn't number one deserve to be at the top?"
Tsubaki put her hand in, a smile on her lips. "Don't mind him." She apologized for his arrogance.
Soul shrugged. "I don't see the harm." He placed his hand on top of Tsubaki's and peered over at Kid, who was twitching terribly.
"It's...It's not symmetrical! It's disgusting! You're all swine!" He screamed, fixing everyone's hand position before adding his own.
'Tch. He is crazy.' Soul thought as Black Star, with a cheeky grin, placed his hand on top.
"Team on 3!" Patty said, beaming. "1,2,3, Team!" She led the chant as she brought her hand up with everyone else's.
Everyone then scurried off to do what they were assigned, Kid to the kitchen, Tsubaki, Liz, and Patty to the party store, and Soul to the grocery store to get some food that they need so Maka wouldn't get suspicious as to where he was.
On his way home, he saw some moon flowers in bloom in somebody's front yard.
I know those flowers, Soul thought, stopping and looking them over, they are Maka's favorite. He quickly looked around to see if anyone was watching him as he hopped over the fence.
As he was grabbing the soon-to-be small bouquet out of the ground, a man came outside, cocking his rifle.
"You better leave right now or I'll blast a hole right through 'yer head!" The man yelled at Soul, who smirked at the man.
