"Mummy, can you keep telling us the story now?" Your daughter asks as she climbs up the sofa placed in your living room, watching some cartoons.
"No! We have to wait for dad." Eli protests as he sits beside his sister.
"I'm with Eli," you agree with your son, giving them both a smile.
"Fine, when is he coming back?" Liz asks, her eyes never leaving the TV screen.
Checking the time on your phone, you say, "anytime now, he's probably on his way ba-"
You are interrupted by the sound of the front door opening, revealing your husband. You smile at him and he smiles back. "I'm home, kids!" He announces since their eyes are still fixtated on the screen, probably unaware of their dad's arrival. "I got pizza on my way here."
"Yay!" Elizabeth exclaims, extending her arms so Tom could pick her up. He left the pizza on the counter, picking his daughter up in his arms. "How's it going?" He asks her before kissing her cheek, making her smile in response.
Tom then sits on the sofa next to Eli with his daughter on his lap. "What about you, champ?" He asks messing with his hair. "How was school today?"
"Boring," Eli replies, making his dad laugh.
You go into the kitchen to grab four plates so you could start eating the pizza Tom brought. Turning the TV off, you sit on the sofa with the rest of your family and start giving them a plate with some slices of pizza for them to start eating. As you give Tom his plate, he gives you a small smile and pecks your lips.
"How was your day, love?" He asks and you take a bite of your food.
"It was good, had a pretty chill day at work," you begin. "How was filming?"
"Great, hopefully we won't get called for reshoots this time."
You nod and your daughter gives you a look, and you know exactly what it means. "Liz has been begging me to keep telling last night's story," you inform your husband and he nods in acknowledgment.
"You did like it, huh?" Tom asks her, tickling her sides.
"Yeah," she manages to get out in between laughs.
"It's the best one you've told us yet." Eli comments, making both Tom and you smile.
"Okay," Tom says. "So where was I?"
"They had just met," Eli begins, biting his pizza. "And they sat together on the plane."
"Yeah, right," Tom nods before looking at you. "Darling, why don't you tell them about their first date?"
"Okay, so after they came back from Atlanta, they decided to keep in touch," you begin and both your children look at you expectantly. "They texted every single day. And remember when we said the girl was from Birmingham?" Your kids quickly nod. "Well, ever since the boy found out the girl had been living in London since she was seventeen, they've been hanging out quite often." You pause and look at your husband, only to find him smiling lovingly at you. "One day, the boy finally found the courage to ask her out..."

"If you're not telling me where we're going, can you at least tell me what to wear?" You asked Tom through your phone. "Because there's no way in heaven or hell you're taking me to a fancy restaurant and I'm wearing a tank top and some shorts."
Ever since he asked you out on a date five days ago, you've been stressing over what you should wear, since he didn't tell you where you would be going, claiming he wanted it to be a surprise. The two of you had met up a few times before to grab a coffee and have a chat, but this time was different. You remembered his exact words, "would you like to go on a date with me? Like, a proper date, me picking you up and being a gentleman and all that jazz."
