A New Beginning

Chaptet 3

I'm in my new loft. The movers put some of my stuff in the right spots so after moving a few things around and taking a shower to relax, I'm sitting on my couch with the tv on starring at Regina's business card. I look at the clock it's 9:30. I send her at text, "Hey, it's me, Emma Swan. From the diner. It was great to meet you and Henry today. My number should be on this text. Oh, I'm sorry if I sent this to late. I don't wanna wake the kid". A few minutes later I received at text back from her. "No worries dear. Henry is all tucked away in his crib. Thanks again for the help. And you are right. It appears Henry is teething. So my address is 108 Mifflin Street. It's a White House. Is 6 o'clock good for you tomorrow night?"  Crap I'm so excited now. "Yes. Yup. Perfect. Can I bring anything?" "No need. Just yourself". "Ok. I guess I'll see you tomorrow night". Wow. I'm having dinner with the wicked hot brunette tomorrow. Who happens to be my boss. Oh, I hope it's not a work thing. I'd really like to get to know her better. Like a lot better. Waking up on Saturday morning I feel pretty good. I sit up in bed and just look around a bit and think of what I'd like to do today. Looking at the clock I see its just after 9 and I'm hungry but I haven't gone shopping yet so I get dressed and walk around the corner to Granny's. This could be a bad thing living so close to this place. I walk in and it's a little quiet and I choose to sit at the same table as last night. Ruby walks up to me again. "Good morning. Emma? Right? "Yup. Good morning Ruby. Can I get an egg, cheese and bacon sandwich a bear claw and a hot cocoa with cinnamon and whipped cream. Please ". "Sure thing, coming right up". I was looking through a newspaper that was left on the table when I hear the bell on the door chime and I look up and see the hot brunette with a baby. She looks around and spots me and smiles as she makes her way into the diner. "Good morning Emma". "Hello Regina, hello Henry". I say smiling at both of them. "I just ordered but would you both like to join me?"  "Well I was just going to get something to go, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to sit for a bit". She smiles as she sits and she waves Ruby over. "Good morning Regina, what can I get for you?"  "A coffee and some oatmeal please". "You got it. Hi there Henry. How's everyone's favorite little man doing?"  She says to the baby who's now in a high chair. He giggles a bit at her and then she walks away to put Reginas order in. "So how was your first night in your new home?"  "It's really just a small loft, but it was great. I cant believe how quiet it is here at night". "A big difference from Boston I take it". "Oh god ya. In the city you hear cars and sirens all night long, nothing like here. It's a nice change". Ruby comes over with our orders and I dig right in as Regina puts sugar and cream in her coffee. My sandwich is basically gone in three bites. "Hungry Ms Swan ?" Regina says with a smirk on her face. I shrug and say "I'm always hungry". She gives the cutest laugh. Then I hear Henry laugh. "Are laughing at me to kid?"  I say as I tickle his neck a little. We share some small talk as Regina shares her oatmeal with Henry who seems to love it, and I dig into my bear claw which is so good. I see me eating a lot of these in my future. I hope they have a gym here in town or I'm gonna get huge. Our breakfast was done a while ago but we still sit here talking. I like this. She's so easy to be with. And Henry is just the best kid ever. Regina asks me to watch him while she uses the rest room, I smile and nod. "Do you mind if I hold him?"  "Sure go ahead ". She says as she walks into the back. I unbuckle him and he lifts his arms for me to pick him up. He's so cute and cuddly. I love holding him. I can't wait to have a kid. He lets out a big yawn and a hum as he puts his head on my shoulder just like last night. Regina comes back and smiles at us. "It seems my son finds you comfortable Emma". We both chuckle. "I'm very good at cuddling what can I say". "I should probably get him home for a nap. It was a pleasure having breakfast with you Emma". She says as we stand and I gently hand Henry over to her. "Thank you Regina. I enjoyed it myself". "So I'll see you tonight right?"  She says before she starts to walk away. "Yes definitely. I'm looking forward to it". We both smile at each other as she walks out and I already can't wait to see her again.
