About 20 minutes later Zach and Robert come back. Y/s was crying really hard and loud.
Zach:" he was like this ever since we picked him up."
Zach hands him to you.
You:" hey y/s. . . It's okay. Mommy's here. Hey baby."
You smile at him and he soon stops crying and starts to smile.
Zach:" wow. Is that all it took?"
Robert:" he knows when he's with his mommy."
The doctor comes out of Austin's room.
Doctor:" he's going to be okay. His body just consumed too much alcohol but we've been trying to flush the alcohol out of his system."
You:" thank you."
Doctor:" you were lucky. If this young man hadn't called us, he could've died."
You look at Alex and he puts his arm around you and the baby and hugs you both.
Doctor:" if you want to see him now would be the time."
You look at the room where Austin was at then look back at Alex.
Alex:" go ahead. I'll watch y/s."
You smile and hand over y/s. He starts to cry at first but stops once he realizes it's uncle Alex.
AUSTIN'S POV:
I woke up in the hospital with a horrible head headache.
Doctor:" how are you feeling?"
I don't answer. I cover my eyes and realize what I had done.
Doctor:" some of your friends and family are here. Do you want to see them?"
Better now then never.
Austin:" . . .yes."
She leaves the room and I look through the tiny space between the curtains. I see Alex hugging Kristal and y/s. He's always been there for Kristal and y/s. He never cries when he's with Alex. Alex is more of a father to him than I am. . . Kristal gives y/s to Alex. . . I guess she's coming in first.
