Narrowed yellow optics blinked, the slits of the pupils flashing as the animal studied the files spread out on the table in front of him. Five names were laid out. Five targets. He was told to pick one. Not Junkboy. Junkboy was one of the most powerful warriors. Those who met him rarely lived.
His gaze slid over Junkboy's and swept over Falconices. He wouldn't take her either. She was something of a legend to him and to others.
Scar's eyes landed on a file with a beautiful female smiling at the camera lens. Juno. He scanned her description, mapping out in his head where she lived and how he could get there to finish the job.
The light of the table cast his shadow against the wall behind him, the darkest parts of his slim body hiding the red crossed-out smiles of his past victims. He moved, with grace, to another table and coiled up, darting his tongue out to taste the air for any sign of danger that would somehow manage to get past all the traps he had laid out. No trace, so he huffed in disapponitment and returned his gaze to the rail of masks hanging from the wall. His tail reached up and selected one with the snarling face of a wolf, and he carefully fitted it over his head. He shivered as the cold metal brushed against his scales, and moved over to the window and opened it carefully. Peeking outside to make sure nobody was there he threw himself out and let himself fall and landed with the faintest thump on the ground. In his mind he traced the path he had to take, and as soon as he got it clearly pictured his mind split into three parts.
One part kept his tongue darting out to detect the air, the second part mde sure he didn't slip because that would just be embarrassing, and the third part worked overtime to keep his mind occupied as to what he would say to her.
Upon reaching her house he slammed his tail against the door three times. It opened, and Juno peered out. She wasn't as young as he was expecting, but her pale blue optics widened slightly as she took in all three and a half meters of his body length.
"Uhm, come in..?" She spoke quietly, and he slithered past her with a nod, his scales brushing against the floor and making a faint rustling sound. In the den he reached and took off the mask, laid it on the table. She followed him.
"I'll go get some tea." She began, but he cut her off with a wave of his tail. "No, no. I'll get it." He interrupted curtly, already on the floor. He also had a blueprint of her house. It was generously provided by the person who wanted him to kill Juno. Sneaky bastard. He entered the kitchen and headed straight for the cupboard, where he picked out two delicate porcelan cups. The first one he filled with water and selected a tea bag. Opening his maw he gently sunk his fangs into one of the small holes of the bag, injecting his venom into it. It wouldn't kill, this type, but it would paralyse enough for his client to finish the job herself. His client was messy that way, and he liked it. The second cup was for him. He sprinkled some sweet-smelling herbs into both cups, balanced the cups on a tray he found after a lot of searchning, and carried it into the living room and set them on the table. This tea better be good. I don't waste my time with looking for silly little cup trays. He thought, picked up his cup and coughed into it, so that there was no way Juno would take it. Hesitantly she picked up the cup with wide, furry paws, and sniffed it. The snake chuckled.
"Don't worry dear, it's not poisoned. It's soothing." He nodded.
As if to prove his point he sipped from his own cup. Her shoulders slumped in relief, as if the tension completely left her body and muscles. She gave him a grateful smile and proceded to lap at the liquid. Boy she was an idiot. His pupils slitted as he blinked, and he watched the poison spread from the tea bag into the tea and onto her tongue and into her body. Five seconds.
That was what he would give her.
Five seconds for the poison to enter the bloodstream and launch an attack on the brain.
She slumped, nearly dropped the teacup, but he caught it and put it on the table.
"Nighty-night." He leaned over to whisper, then reached to his side and tapped twice, signalling directly to his client. The doors flew open and in strode the giantess, a large smile playing on her maw, pawsteps bringing her forwards at a surprising speed. He smiled at her and his tongue shot out. She smelt of mud, and dirt, flowers and leaves.
"Okami." A nod, and he dipped down from the table to the marble floors.
"Scar." She replied curtly, glancing at Juno. "What did you do to her? Hopefully not killed her, did you?" She crouched to inspect her.
"No, merely sedated, like you requested." Scar said. "And now my payment?" He rasped.
It wasn't a request.
Nor a threat.
It was, however, tinged with a deep hint of danger.
He knew she was fair, but how fair he did not. She smirked, shook her fur out, reached to her back, turning her neck. He debated striking her now but what would that do? Given by the scars on her body and the way she wore them showed already how good of a fighter she was. He wondered if she had ever met Junkboy. He shook his head and chased the thought away as quickly as it came to him.
Two seconds later she returned to her original position and when her head turned back her maw wasn't empty. A burlap sack, heavy with unknown contents, hung from her jaws. She tossed the bag on the floor and rose to look at Juno, her tail swishing from side to side.
"Such a pretty little thing." She murmured, bending down again and humming to herself as she studied the animal. She stretched her neck directly over Juno's shoulder blades, maw opened, and he saw a pink tongue dart out and brush against Juno's neck and she snapped forwards, clamping her fangs over the animals artery. She jerked up, Okami leapt away, onto the couch with her claws shooting out, shredding a thousand dollar's worth of fluff. Blood splashed out, staining the white fur carpet. He darted back with a hiss spitting from his mouth to avoid the crimson liquid. Okami tossed him his mask from the tabke. He put it on, left her in the house staring at the body with a strange expression on her face.

As soon as he got back to his house he dumped the sack in the corner and took his mask off as a letter landed through his window. He threw the metal on the table and took the paper, black optics glittering with dangerous excitement. He tore it open and began to read. Another job. It said not much, but instructed him to meet his new client in the Cafe by the river. He shrugged and decided not to wear a mask before slipping out of the window and landing in a cool on the floor. He headed the direction of the meeting point.
When he arrived his vision immediately zeroed on a pink-haired animal. Every pore of his body screamed that he was in danger, but still he forced himself to stay calm.
As if sensing his presence somehow, Falconices head turned from where she was gazing out the window and her pink optics landed in him. He froze, and a slow smile curled her lips and she beckoned him with a paw.
"Come on now, don't be afraid." She purred, her tail swishing from side to side in an almost hypnotic way.
"It was you who sent that letter." He managed. How she heard him from the other side of the room he didn't know, but she chuckled and nodded. "Yes I did. Now are you going to come here so I can talk to you?"
He snapped out of his shock and nodded and slithered over to her and coiled his body in the chair opposite the female. A flutter of feathers and a hawk landed next to their table.

"What can I get you two?" He asked, eyeing Falconice warily.

"A bottle of red wine, please." She replied sweetly, her tail curling around her paws. He nodded, and left.

Scar blinked. "What do you want me to do?"

Her eyes narrowed in glee. "I want you to break my friend out of jail."
