neighbours au // "you bake when you're stressed and sometimes you give me cookies, but recently you've been giving me whole baskets every day. i'm not complaining, but are you okay?"
The weather had become cooler these days and it was just right to get cozy in the house by wrapping yourself up in a blanket while watching a film that was playing on the flat screen. You had your cup of coffee ready and you reached for the cookies only to realise that you had finished them yesterday.
While you were craving for some, you heard the door bell rang. Once the sound faded, a familiar voice took place.
"It's me!"
You headed to greet Kihyun who had an entire basket of cookies in his hand. You blinked your eyes as you accepted them and glanced at him who had his bright smile on.
You guessed he must had gotten over it so you just thanked him and he left just like that. You watched him return to his house opposite of yours.
Shrugging your shoulders, you closed the door and return back to watch your movie.

It was in the evening when Kihyun came back again, knocking on your door to hand you another basket of cookies.
You were starting to feel a little concerned about him.
"I had received them this morning too."
"I baked them again and there were too many."
"Right. Is everything okay?"
"What do you mean?"
"Well, I know you bake when you are stressed and sometimes you give me cookies, but these days, you had been giving me whole baskets. Like today, you just baked in the morning and again in the evening. I love your cookies and I am not complaining but are you okay?"
Kihyun let out a weak chuckle and rubbed the back of his neck.
"I am really fine. I'm sorry for making you worried."
You hummed and knew that he was having a hard time dealing with this new problem of his. You sighed and just smiled to stop forcing him to speak about it.
"Just know that I am only a doorstep away so if something is bothering you or need a listening ear, I am there for you."
