"I mean, I'm pretty sure no one will come. Because you know, no one wants to pay."
He glanced at her, averting his eyes immediately. "I'm not talking about you. Some have stolen books, it bothers me." She shook her head, her eyes wide in disbelief. "Who does that? Why would anyone want to steal a book? It feels wrong to me."
He nodded, his eyes looking distant. "I don't know why someone would do that." He replied, remembering the time he'd sneaked into his parents' bedroom to steal one book.
His head jerked at her, trying to find an answer, "It's not stealing if it's yours, it it?"
She glared at him, locking the Library door. He tried to adjust to those eyes, them eyes that bore into him. "If it's yours then why would it be?"
He smiled vaguely, rounding his shoulders. What if it really wasn't?
"Have you ever tasted California?" She asked him, interrupting his thoughts and started moving forward. Zayn saw they were taking the way he had came from.
Zayn frowned, "... I didn't know we could taste States?"
Every chuckled, "You're funny. I mean, the Ice-cream!"
"California Ice-cream?"
"Blimey, you haven't tasted it, have you? No worries, we're just on our mission." She smiled and looked away. Zayn stared at her for quite a long time. Saw how her hair were scruffy, hanging a little beyond her shoulders.
They were so black. Just like her eyes, he hadn't seen such dark hair also. He had studied that hair colour reflected light but the darkest colour didn't. Right now, he could see what it meant, because when sunlight fell on her hair, they didn't reflect anything but had a blue hue to them.
"I don't know about you, but I don't like it when people stare at me." She smirked at him, making him blush and turn away.
Zayn bit his tongue, it wasn't intentional. He wanted to ask something, but he decided to stay quiet. Quiet was nice, he liked it on himself.
Soon, he was crossing the Map of United Kingdom and he smiled at the memory, and how this still inflicted butterflies in his stomach.
"What are you thinking?" He looked at her, her face smiling and curious. Was she always smiling?
"Nothing." Zayn shook his head, following her when she took one of the four paths he'd been curious about at first. "It's like I'm doing a morning walk."
Every beamed at him, "Isn't it?" she said jokingly. "This is so big, you don't need to workout. Just keep doing up and down, home to college to library to cafeteria and then Gemma's class is like an entire another universe away! I like it here, but it's a lot too big. Did you know this is where all the colleges of Ravenford are? There's no other private college to study in. I like to think it spreads over half the town. I'm only joking, by the way. But, I mean, there's no other option for us all. Be here or be here."
Zayn grinned, nodding in agreement. "This is going to be tiring huh?"
"You bet. Still, saves the membership of the gym. Its horrible, I'll tell you. You don't want to go there." She suddenly nudged at his elbow, "We're here." Zayn looked up to see the cafeteria. There was a walkway, leading up to the glass door with long bars as handles.
Even standing outside the cafe, he could taste the coffee on his tongue. Brain is a weird thing, he thought. The walls were made of glass too, and he could see students having a fun time in there.
He suddenly remembered Louis."Oi, come in!" Every was already pushing the door ajar for him. Zayn brisk walked to catch her up to her, nudging his head in a polite thank you. Guess he wasn't the gentleman here after all.
