There was a chill in the air this morning that had prevailed since yesterday night. Winter seemed to be getting harsher in Ravenford with each passing day. Every had remarked once that it felt like the coldest winter of the decade.

The wind was gentle, but it was cold.

Louis was wearing Zayn's jumper. Zayn had thrown it at his face when Louis had entered his dorm. He had come to see (and inspect) where his best mate lived these days. Louis had noted how very small the dorm actually was in comparison to the thousands praises Zayn had sung about it.

Upon entering, Zayn had immediately opened his closet and rummaged through a pile of clothes, complaining about how Louis could get a fever and that he knew how worse it could be if Louis remained so neglectful towards the cold.

Louis had been left to admire the artwork on the walls. One of the walls by the beds was covered in stripes, but the one across it had several cartoons made on it. There were cartoon men dying under many books. And in the corner, there was a stick man sitting in the balcony and watching the sky. The sky had a cluster of stars, which resembled a constellation he had read about in his science book once.

There was grass at the bottom and little fireflies in between the glass blades. It was all pretty dishevelled, and there seemed to be no symmetry, but it screamed that Zayn had been the one to paint this.

It kindled something inside Louis. He didn't know what, but he hadn't seen Zayn talking about painting in such a long time, and to see one now was making his heart swell.

His mesmerised eyes had fell on Lucas, who was sitting on his bed cross legged. Lucas had passed him a smile.

Louis had returned it heartily, going across Zayn's bed to Lucas' and sitting down on the edge. Lucas had several books strewn open on it, much like the ones that were on the desk near Zayn's closet.

"Exams?"

"Yeah. Day after tomorrow." Lucas had shrugged. "Preparation leave today."

"That's why Zayn is so irritated." Louis had teased, a smile plastered on his face. "I'm eating away his time that he can use for studying, right Zaynie boy?"

A jumper had come flying at his face then.

"Try this."

He had tried. It wasn't of his liking, so he had asked for a change.

"It's not really a preparation leave though," Lucas spoke quietly, while Zayn blabbered in the distance about how cold it was and it's effects. "Someone died, one of the staff from the University. So its to commemorate that. Most of the teacher's staff is in the ceremony. I got to know from our Resident Advisor. He wasn't going to tell me, but I overheard him."

"Oh." Louis quietened. "I'm sorry."

"Yeah." Lucas nodded, "Don't tell him though," He gestured at Zayn, who was still looking for something that would make Louis feel more comfortable. "I think he'll be upset. I think he knew him, just in passing though, but I just have a feeling." He shrugged. "We were told it's a preparation leave."

Louis had nodded.

Another jumper had come flying at his face. This was way too loose and it felt nice. He didn't know since when Zayn had started to wear such loose clothes but he didn't mind. Whatever the jumpers here were made of, they did their job so well that Louis was left to wonder if he should buy some clothes from here before leaving.

When they were about to leave, Zayn had thrown a chocolate at Lucas with a wink. Louis didn't know what that was about, but he smiled nevertheless when Lucas laughed looking at it.
