"Last day of school! WOOOOOO!" Dylan yelled into the dark starry sky. Isreale and Layla were laying on a blanket in a grassy field while Dylan ran around.  This was how they celebrated the start to almost every break. Isreale was trying to convince Dylan that it was also the winter solstice with no avail.

Isreale and Layla were talking about what they did over break. The two were eating the many snacks laid out, provided thankfully by Layla, While Isreale put on the shared playlist the three created for this occasion. Most of them were junk food, but there was the occasional bag of almonds here or there. "I know," Layla said when she pored the two bags filled with snacks out. "So healthy, right?"

"So." Layla popped a hot cheeto in her mouth. "If you could have anything in a guy, anything at all, what would you want?" Layla asked many questions like this. Isreale liked it though. It gave her something to think about.

Isreale laid down to think. She usually takes a few minutes to know her answer, but this one only needed a few seconds. "I think it would be cute if he called me adorable. Like, when I'm nerding out about something, it would be cute if he just responded with 'you're adorable,' right?"

"Huh. I've never though about that before." She laid down next to her. "Yeah, that would be cute. I don't think I would like it, though." She ate another hot cheeto. "It's cute to see other people being cute to their S.O. but actually doing it myself, I don't think I could do it."

"Yeah it's a little scary. I get a little practice off of Dylan, though."

When Dylan heard his name he stopped running around and walked over. He laid down at their legs between them, and proceeded to eat sticks of pocky, two at a time. He didn't talk at all, just listened to their conversation.

"Understandable." Layla paused. "How come I can't see something other people can see? It's a little frustrating when I have a filter, but they get to go off all--all willy nilly!"

Isreale didn't respond. She just closed her eyes and lay there. Layla took this as a sign that she didn't know what she wanted to say, so she stayed quiet, too. They could lay there for hours just stargazing and eating snacks. Someone eventually turned on music, but Isreale didn't bother to see who. That night was one of those rare perfect nights Isreale liked to dream about.

"Hello? Earth to Isreale!" Layla was waving in her face. Isreale had zoned out, unable to hear what Layla just said. She sat up, mimicking Layla's position. Layla gave her 'So?' stare.

"What?" Isreale asked, but Layla just gave a sigh. "The stars are pretty, okay? You can't expect me not to zone out!"

"Yeah, but then it makes me sound boring!" She shoved Isreale and laid back down. "I don't like sounding like that boring, bland type. I don't want to be flour to you guys." She sat back up on her elbows and whispered, "I would just bore my self to death."

Isreale giggled, "Oh my god."

"It's true!" Layla was giggling, too, and neither girls could stop. They almost forgot that Dylan was there with them, but he had zoned out long before that happened. He had only snapped back when they started laughing, but didn't bother to question why.

Michael In The Bathroom from Be More Chill came on. "Aw..." was basically what everyone said when they hear the first note. They'd all memorized it, and made a silent pact to sing whenever it came on.  That's exactly what they did, for the entire song.

"I can't believe Jeremy would do that to his best friend. The riends to his boyf!" Isreale complained. She played with Dylan's hair while he snuggled back down, laying his head on her leg.

"Well technically speaking, he didn't know what he was doing. That was all the squip's fault." Dylan spoke up, but closed his eyes to the comfort of his hair being played with. It was the perfect way to make him sleepy.

"Well yeah," Layla poked his cheek. "But he is the one who accepted the  squip blocking him with the-- the-- what was it called again?" Layla wasn't exactly the best at fandoms. She tried her best, though. She always wanted to know  what new fandom Isreale and Dylan shared. They complied, because they like to see her fail at all the language, take this for example.

" Uh, optic nerve blocking?" Isreale gave her.

"Yeah! Optic nerve blocking." Isreale and Dylan started laughing. "What? That's what it's called, right?"

"Yeah, it's just," Isreale couldn't get a grip. After a few wheezes, she finally got out, "It's just that you don't normally say something like 'optic nerve blocking.' It's kind of hilarious, I'm sorry." Isreale kept laughing with Dylan, and Layla joined in. She knew full well that it was true.
