Teenagers live with masks on and I'm sick of having to keep my mask on. Even with my friends it's hard to take my mask completely off.
So this story is about a girl (who is based of off myself and my challenges) who lives in a world where when you become a teenager you get a mask and you can't EVER take it off. She is told that she is the only one who wears a mask. But when a teacher hints at everyone wearing one she takes it off and finds that people can't ever truly be themselves because of their masks.
This story is based off of a talk that I have heard a million times, and a few times by this specific teacher, but I had it again and it hit me hard. I feel that it's my job to write about it because I want to be the good. I want to show everyone that we can take our masks off and the world won't fall apart. I personally have never been bullied but my two best friends have and I've seen what it can do to a person and it's terrible. I absolutely HATE it. I have a huge fear of being bullied because I like to do somethings that aren't very popular where I live. I also have a fear that people will tease me because I am a fangirl and because I ride horses. I want to take off my mask and for everyone to join me. If anyone reads this and feels inspired I want you to use my mask theme and write your own story with it (please ask my permission first). I have a plan with this book and it's sequels, but I need help with it. Please help me be the good.
I'm going to publish a chapter of this as soon as I can because I firmly believe that most teens live with a 'mask' on, especially the ones who have mental illnesses, don't have supportive parents, and are bullies and/or are harassed and I'm gonna take a stand in the only way I know how. So if you are sick of your mask and want to stand with me write a book about a character based off of yourself saving the world by taking off your mask. Use the tag #No-More-Masks.
