Chan has known his whole life who he was. Yet, he always felt there was something missing. One night as he watched the clouds dance across the starry sky, he came to realise what that something was. A place to belong.
He knew what he had to do so at the break of dawn Bang Chan, Son of the almighty Zeus, set out in search of that place where he belonged. That he needed in order to fill the empty corners of his heart.
What he did not know at the beginning, was that his journey would take him farther than he'd ever been, and bring him to realize things he never knew were possible.
But we're getting ahead of ourselves. In order to tell this story, we need a bit more backstory. Let's start at the very beginning.
Bang Chan has spent all 19 years since his birth, knowing the truth about who he was. His father, Zeus, spoke to him often throughout each and every day and visited every year on Chan's birthday. As far as absent fathers go, you couldn't ask for better. On Chan's 7th birthday, Zeus visited as usual. He brought his son a beautiful golden amulet comprised of Zeus's lightning bolt and surrounded in Greek writing that read "I would give up my crown to see you smile".
The touching moment was sadly short-lived. Zeus announced that it was no longer safe for Chan and that he must leave to live at the Sanctuary. Chan's mother packed his bags that night, he left with his father to the camp he would call home for the next 12 years.
He now stands those 12 years later, at the door of his cabin with a duffle bag slung over his shoulder. Taking one last look around, he closes the door and makes his way to the main gate.
The gate was made of a red oak wood and the archway towered 8 feet above the ground, making all that pass beneath it feel small. the carvings along the side represented the gods of Olympus and their battle. The sign placed at the top of the gate read out a warning to those who might attempt to enter.
Obelius, the head counsellor at the Sanctuary, stood there waiting for him.
"So, you've decided."
"I guess so."
"Do you know what it is you're looking for?"
"That's something I'll have to figure out. All I know is that I won't find it here."
"Very well. In that case, I think it's time I gave you this." Obelius take out a silver bracelet. The simple accessory wraps around the wrist and ends with a lightning bolt.
"Your father asked me to give this to you once you were ready. You've always been ready, but I thought I should wait until you needed it."
"It's beautiful" Chan took hold of the bracelet, only for it to transform into a bolt of lightning and then wrap itself around Chan's wrist, transforming back into the bracelet.
"You'll learn to control it." Chan stares admiringly down at the gift.
"Wow. Thank you." He plays with the silver bracelet on his left wrist and smiles.
"Thank you father," he whispers looking up at the sky.
"I suppose this is goodbye then."
"I'll come back. I don't know when or for how long, but I will come back."
"I will look forward to the day."
"Take care Obelius."
"You too, son of Zeus."

OMG! I FINALLY FINISHED AND PUBLISHED SOMETHING!
I mean its only one chapter, but the rest aren't far behind. I'm honestly proud of myself because it isn't complete garbage and I felt good enough to put it on the internet. So please be nice.
HOWEVER, if you find any grammar mistakes or you think by doing something different it will improve the story, as long as you say it respectfully, I will greatly appreciate it.
Thank you and I hope you enjoy ( ^ - ^ )
