There, alone, she sat in her room on a lonely Saturday night, listening to music and thinking. She should be doing homework, but that can wait, she has 'better things to do'. She was just about to get to bed when she heard the door open and the hallway light flick on, sending slim streaks of light into her room. She quickly wiped away the tears in her eyes, and ran to the bathroom to splash water on her face. She got her pj's on and ran downstairs with a cup to get a glass of ice water. Her parents were in the kitchen, just about to open a bottle of wine. It was the expensive type. She opens the fridge to get out some ice cubes. "Shut the bloody fridge for gods sake!! Your letting the cold out, don't you know it's winter?!" Her mother told her as she was taking off a faux fur jacked and hanging it on the small bronze coat hooks that are bolted just to the right of the doorframe. "Sorry." She mumbled as her thin hands turned the brass handle on the tap, and pouring the water into her tall glass. Smoke suddenly filled her lungs. She looked over to her mother who had just lit a cigarette and was puffing smoke all over the kitchen. "How's your brother?" She inquired, catching the girl just before she had walked away. " He's good, fell asleep about ten minutes after you and dad left."
"Good, and it's farther, 'dad' sounds far to conmen for anyone in this family to say". The girl nodded her head and quickly walked away before her mother got the chance to speak to her again. They were people of few words. She despised her mother, as she was a selfish, snobbish women who thought that, just because she lived in the fancy part of London, and her husband had a fancy job, that everyone else was common and should be looked down upon.

She made her way up the long stairs, heading back to her room. As she passed, she crossed her little brothers room. He, still fully clothed, was sleeping soundly on a large, expensive mattress. She closed his door, making sure the horrid smoke of her mothers cigarette wouldn't reach him and infect his small, six year old lungs. Climbing to her own bed, which was the smallest in the house, she began to cry again, in complete darkness until she fell into a deep, heavy sleep.

The next day she woke up and just laid there. Like every day, she didn't feel like getting up and talking to people. She sighed,  headed to the bathroom and proceeded to throw up in the toilet, like every morning for the past few weeks. And, like always, Mary, the house maid came in to clear it up, seeing as 'that's her job' and her good-for-nothing parents weren't going to do it. " I'm sorry Mary, I'll help you clean up." She said getting up from the toilet and wiping the sick off her face with toilet paper. "No no dear it's quite alright" Mary put her raven hair into a bun and began tho scrub the sick up on the toilet " but dear, are you okay? You've been throwing up every morning for about two weeks now, do you need to see a doctor?" Mary asked her. She was the only one in her home that actually gave a damn about her. She gave Mary a warm smile. "no Mary I'm fine, just a bit of a bug" she said flushing the toilet, getting rid of the remaining puke. "Okay well feel better hon, if your parents need me I'll be cleaning your brothers room and getting his attire ready, god that child is messy" Mary laughed slightly as she walked out of the bathroom, into the hallway, heading to her little brothers bedroom.

As she walked into the dining room to take a seat, she saw the cook being yelled at. She didn't get all of it but she distinctly heard the words 'waffle' and 'Jonathan'. Her six year old brother. She then turned to her younger brother and saw his face, and the area surrounding him, covers in waffles and maple syrup, a meal her 'oh-so-posh' parents would never let them eat. Finally, her dad had stopped yelling at the cook and had tucked into his English breakfast, what they usually have. He then looked up at you and smiled "honey I'm So glad you decided to join us" he stated with  a friendly tone in him voice. He's always been nicer to her because she caught him with his mistress, Diamond. "If you can remember we have to go to that business party today, and you guys have to come" he said nodding his head at her and Jonathon , who was shoving waffles down his throat. "And you know who will be there" her mother said excitedly, talking directly to her " Andrew Parkers!" She practically squealed. Andrew Parkers, a name she thought she'd never hear again, especially after that night....

Hi! I'm sorry this chapter was quite short and that I left it on a cliff hanger, but get used to it... goodnight!
