Chapter 12: Asia's Story

Dipper POV~

I walked through the woods for a good half hour now, trying to find the damn spot where I found Bill and Asia. Bill I can understand why he's here, but Asia...just another mystery to be solved. Finally in the distance I was able to see Asia, her giant wings spread out. I smiled and called over to her, "Hey Asia!" She turned around to see me and smiled.

"Hey Dipper!"

I smiled as I walked over to her and set my bag down. "Where's Bill?" She gave me a shrug and guessed.

"Probably hunting or somethin. So what are you doing all the way out here?"

"I came to ask you a few questions, if you don't mind? Before Bill comes back." She gave a me a smile.

"Not at all! Go right ahead!"

I smiled and then asked, "How long have you known Bill? Months? Few weeks?"

"Only for about almost a week. I knew nothing about him at all when I first met him."

I nodded and continued, "How did you two meet?" She smiled sadly and sheepishly answered.

"I... got caught in a bear trap. The hunters were going to sell me for money, until Bill found me and rescued me."

"Do you have any siblings?" I saw Asia lower her head.

"I...don't wanna talk about that part Dipper. My past... isn't what you would call family rated."

"Please? I won't judge you for your past." Asia raised her head and looked at me. She then sighed.

"Promise?"

"Promise." She nodded and began to tell me her story.

Asia POV~

"I... had a brother." Dipper tilted his head and watched me.

"You did?" I nodded my head.

"Yeah. But...He got killed. It happened one night when I was with him, Xavier..."

(FLASHBACK TO 2 YEARS AGO)

"Xavier! I don't wanna go!" I pouted as we were driving to the destination. Xavier looked in the rear view mirror.

"We need to Asia. Don't make me repeat myself. We NEED to do this." I pouted some more and whined.

"But why night of all times?"

"Cause someone could've seen us Asia. And of that would've happen, we would be in jail right now. You don't want that, do you?" I huffed and sighed.

"No..."

"Then that's the reason we are doing it tonight. Besides, there is only one night guard. What could go wrong?" I wished we didn't need to do this, but we were poor. When our parents died, nothing was willed to us. So we were kicked out of the house and into an orphanage. Xavier first learned that stealing was easy and smart, if you weren't caught. Soon he taught me and we both were able to pick pocket or smuggle something from someone. But tonight was the night we were going to a food drive and getting food. I didn't think it was a good idea. I thought about the other starving people that needed this food more than we do, but Xavier saids it's just because I have a heart.

We finally arrived at the food drive place. We got out and jogged to the fence line. Xavier grabbed his bag and unzipped it to get a pair of bolt cutters out. One by one he clipped the wires, until he created a small hole for us to squeeze through. Once we got inside, Xavier got two flash lights out and handed one to me.

"Alright. I'm going this way and seeing if there is some canned goods. You go that way and see if there are bags to carry the food in."

I nodded and went out on my mission. As I looked around for the bags, I heard an engine softly going on in the distance. I slowly stocked over to the noise and heard voices. I hid behind a giant crate and peeked over.

Men in masks and armed with guns were carrying some crates of food into a van. I knew this wasn't a good idea. I slowly back away from the scene but dropped my flashlight, creating loud 'smack'. I saw a few men turn to my direction and bark out my existence. I turned and ran in the other direction, hoping to find Xavier and get the fuck out of here! As I turned the corner, one man in a mask grabbed me and back handed me into a crate. I groaned and tried to get back up, only to be hand-cuffed and forced down by the masked man. I yelped and begged for my life.

"No please!! Don't k-kill me!! Let me go!!" The man forced me up and away to the van. I screamed and begged more, hoping that either they would let me go or Xavier would here me. Then I heard a voice from behind, one that sounded scared and determined. Then a huge 'bang' went off behind me. I turned around, only to see my brother fall to the ground. I teared up and screamed.

"NO!!!! XAVIER!!!! PLEASE NO!!!!" I balled my eyes out as a bag was placed over my head and I was shoved into the van. I faintly saw a puddle of red forming under Xavier's body, as the door slammed shut. I sobbed and tried to hug myself, as I felt the van move away from the food drive building.

(END OF FLASHBACK)

Dipper POV~

I teared up as Asia told.me the story of her brother. Once she finished, I gulped down a tear and sadly apologized.

"I...I'm so sorry Asia. I didn't know that happened to you." She looked at me and smiled softly.

"Its okay. I've learned that...we can't change the past, but we change the future. Xavier would've wanted that for me to move on."

I smiled and then asked, "Do you miss him?"

"Yeah. A lot." She frowned and looked away. "Sometimes... I wish I could've done something to prevent that scene. But I ask myself... would Xavier want that?"

I moved over to her and gave her a soft hug. I then looked at her and smiled.

"I think Xavier would be proud of who you became Asia." She smiled and laughed a tiny bit.

"Y-Yeah. Your right Dipper. He would be." I smiled and turned to see Bill coming our way.

I think... maybe I don't need to be afraid anymore.

Tada!! Two chapters in one day!? I know right. Thank you my beauties for sticking with me all the way to the end, now you have more info of the backstory of Asia. I know you guys feel really sad right now I'm sorry I didn't mean to make you guys sad. But it was worth it ;). Anyway I'm going to try to update more, If my people at work can cooperate with me.
